VJ said 2009-04-16 at 22:45 Hi Preston I got fed up with the following error in my NetWorker server: 04/16/09 18:31:53 nsrexecd: GSS Legato authentication user session entry (warning): "User authentication session timed out and is now invalid.". Session number = 0:6617e, domain = eir.com, user name = root, NetWorker Instance Name = server01 04/16/09 18:31:53 nsrexecd: SYSTEM error: An error occured when a client attempted to acquire credentials: error: "A daemon requested the information for a user session, but the user session was not found in the list of valid sessions" session number: 0:60480, user id: (NONE). 04/16/09 18:31:53 nsrexecd: GSS Legato authenticationTo: NETWORKER AT LISTSERV.TEMPLE DOT EDU Date: Wed, 9 May 2012 07:37:37 -0400 Hi, Rosario, An RPC (Remote Procedure Call) error simply tells you that NetWorker on the server was unable to communicate with NetWorker on the client. In this https://adsm.org/lists/html/Networker/2012-05/msg00025.html case it appears that the problem occurred during an authentication "handshake". The usual suspects: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1433278 1. Does the client ping from the server? 2. Does the server ping from the client? 3. Does DNS resolve forward and reverse for both client and server? 4. Is NetWorker (ie, nsrexecd) running on the client? 5. Was there any sort of a network interruption? 6. Did the client reboot? If the problem authentication error is DNS resolution, a temporary workaround might be to list the client in the server's host file and/or vice-versa. Also, just as an unrelated word of advice, you might want to consider upgrading NetWorker. 7.4.4 is past its end of support life. Conrad Macina On Tue, 8 May 2012 06:26:07 -0700, rosc68
