Cabinet File Certificate Is Valid Directx
the missing file "d3dx9_31.dll" that so many others are reporting here. I immediately decided to update my version of Direct X from Microsoft, but then this install then failed, giving the error: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-update/a-cabinet-file-necessary-for-installation-cannot/9b007762-f6be-4837-928d-59a98378e465 "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid". I spent almost 3 hours trying to solve this, following much of the advice given above and elsewhere, and none of it worked. However, I eventually found a solution on a random forum post after searching the web for help. The http://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq2/index.php?threads/fix-for-the-cabinet-file-error-when-installing-direct-x.496926/ problem actually comes down the the latest Direct X "Web Installer" seemingly not working properly. Instead, I then downloaded the full version of Direct X on to my PC. I got the Direct X here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en Once the file "directx_Jun2010_redist.exe" was on my hard drive, I ran that to unpack it into a temporary directory, and then from that temporary directory, ran the "DXSETUP.exe". This installed DirectX cleanly. After a reboot, it then all worked. )). Windows 7: DirectX Setup - A Cabinet File Cannot Be Trusted? 28 Mar 2010 #1 Dj SharK Windows 7 Ultimate x86 7600 95 posts S.E.A DirectX Setup - A Cabinet File Cannot Be Trusted? PLEASE READ UPDATED MESSAGE UNDER "EDIT". Hi, I can't find a section for DirectX issues so i figured i'd post it here. Anyways, i'm trying to update/download ( idk what i'm doing ) DirectX but i'm getting an error. Downloaded the file from here : Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime Some assistance/explanation please. This could possibly ( what do i know ) be the reason why i can't install Sound Forge on my Windows 7. Thank you ! Edit : Guess i was too quick to post the issue without trying something else ( yet again ) I just downloaded a different ( maybe similar ) file here - Download details: DirectX Redist (February 2010) and it's working fine. Sorry, please mark this as solved.
