Here's what I did to get the install for win7 64-bit java to work: Clean out your TEMP folder. (Open a cmd window and: "cd %TEMP%" then "cd .." and "rmdir temp /s" [you may need to disable some running services to get everything to clear out]) Disable your anti-virus real-time scan. Download the Win7 64-bit version of java using the manual download from here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Optionally, move the download to your desktop or some other folder so it isn't starting from downloads.
