When I do, it gives me this following error message: "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid." cabinet file I tried to install directx from their website, still getting the same message. I did some research and followed these instructions, but it did not work either. I'm running on Windows 8.1, and I know that has to do with it but there must be a way for me to install the required directx. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks for your help 12-05-201304:24 PM #2 ipeacefrog Rift Chaser Join Date a cabinet file Aug 2013 Posts 307 . Did not work. 12-06-201309:16 AM #4 ipeacefrog Rift Chaser Join Date Aug 2013 Posts 307 . Is Cryptographic Services in Services set to Automatic and currently running? By default it should set to Automatically start, but good to check in case it was disabled at some point. When you run the installer do you right click it and "Run as administrator"? Try the full June 2010 installer. Extract it to an empty folder somewhere, then right click DXSETUP.exe and "Run as administrator" - http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...010_redist.exe (Direct link to download, not a webpage) I realized earlier I gave you the link to the web installer not the full extractable file. .
