I implemented IIS on that "server". I can connect to that server just fine using http, but any attempt to connect to that server using ssl fails with Internet Explorer cannot display web page. I opened IIS on the server I saw it needed a certificate. I used the IIS 6.0 Resource kit's selfsign application to create a self-signed server certificate. I addedthis certificate to the IIS server. Then I ran https://localhost. This failed with the error: "Cannot find server or DNS Error". I looked up this error and I found this page. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290051#3 This advised me to when unable to get https://localhostto work to use a couple of troubleshooting links. This one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260096/EN-US which deals with two web sites (not the case) and advises redoing the certificate, and this one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265847/EN-US which advises scrapping the certificate created with certificate services and using the certificate wizard to make one and sign it with certificate services. This VM does not have certificate services installed and no one is available with the install disk to do so. So I went out to OpenSSL and got the app to create a certificate. (This worked just fine on our other d
