Home › FAQ › What Does the Error Message "The page cannot be displayed" (Cannot find server or DNS error) Mean? May cannot find 27, 2014 SSL Support Team There are several things that can cause this vague error message. The most common reasons we have seen are as follows: A firewall or router is blocking access on your network on port 443. The private key for your certificate does not match or is not associated correctly with the certificate. The DNS entries for the web site are configured incorrectly. The cannot find server web server is not configured to run on port 443 for https requests. The web site is not the IIS Default Website and has not been bound to an IP address for https requests. Firewall (Cisco ASA 5505) issue? up vote 2 down vote favorite 1 I've got the following set up: LAN -> DHCP / DNS / VPN server (OSX 10.6) -> Cisco ASA 5505 -> WAN Connecting to the LAN via VPN works fine. I get all the details properly and I can ping any host on the internal network using their IP. However, I can't do any host lookups whatsoever. Because of that log entry, I'm thinking that the issue is with the firewall, not the server. Any ideas? Please keep in mind that I have very little knowledge and experience with this kind of firewall and the little experience I do have is with the ASDM GUI console, not the CLI console. domain-name-system vpn firewall mac-osx-server cisco-asa share|improve this question edited Oct 14 '15 at 9:54 Oxwivi 15410 asked Sep 8 '10 at 10:11 macke 1342416 As a first step, verify that the VPN client is set to use your internal DNS servers for name resolution.
