will get a http 404 error. Clicking on the back button in the browser will sometimes help. From having searched on here, this looks like it could be OS related, however, my understanding was that Win 2K, SP2 was supported with 2.7.1 & it was only SP3 that caused problems. What I did think of was that this could be related to any security patches that have been installed on the new server. Does anyone know if there are any specific individual security patches for Win2K that could cause this error? Can anyone think of anything else we can check? This is happening on such an intermittent basis, it's very difficult to try and narrow down where the problem lies Thanks in advance, Ann. Just in the last week when I go to a webpage (and it can be any random page and its intermittent) it will come https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5919283?tstart=0 up blank saying "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found" HOWEVER there is nothing wrong with my internet connection or with the website I am trying to navigate to.Example, I wanted to go to mailcall couriers. I click on http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/196627-46-cannot-find-server-error the link on my favourites bar, I get the above error message. I got to google and try access it, same thing. I go to google and click on a sub page link (like contact us) and it is fine and I can cannot find then navigate to their working home page from there. Safari seems to do this routinely with some pages but not all, and not always the same ones. Sometimes the pages will open sometimes I will get this error - but if I try opening that same page at teh same time on my ipad its fine! So it is not the website or the internet.I have tried resetting safari, clearing cache etc... to no avail.NOW, on a similar note, I have numerous open pages in safari on cannot find server my iphone 5S - as of today - all thos pages are coming up witht eh same above error message and wont openSafari 7.0.1Any help is much appreciated as this is driving me insane. When you specify a name, a request is sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS) to get the number. If you have not specified the DNS numbers, or you are using unusual ones, or they have been changed for some reason, sites may not be found.¿ Are you using the DNS numbers specified by your Internet Provider? But not with my PC on the same network. Indeed I could not even get to this forum page due to this error. Until I tried using the 'private' feature of safari. That resolved it enough to
