4 down vote favorite 2 In my driver program, This line gives me cannot find symbol error and I don't know why, the method is clearly defined in the SavingsAccount class, and I can refer to all other methods in my driver program but just not that one, I tried changing the type to double, and etc but still not working. The method goes as follows: public int convert(String romanInput) { (body) returns an integer } And the tester uses said method as such: int arabNumber = RomanNumber.convert(theNumber); theNumber is a String that is entered by the user (via Scanner) when I try to compile RomanNumber, everything is fine, but when I compile the tester, it gives me the following message: RomanTester.java:12: cannot find symbol symbol: method convert(java.lang.String) location: class (and then the RomanNumber class with the package name in front) int arabNumber = RomanNumber.convert(theNumber); and there's a small carrot pointing to the period, of course Everything is spelled correctly and the cases are all correct- I've checked a dozen times...
