Cannot Find Server Or Dns Error Iis
About MakeUseOf Advertise Privacy Chats Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook Search for: Why do I get a DNS error on some sites when they open fine on other PCs? Gourav Mittal July 2, 2012 Facebook Twitter Pinterest Stumbleupon Whatsapp Email I have been getting the error ‘The server can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed' when I try to open some websites (legit, of course). This happens only on my laptop and the site opens fine on other PCs. I use Chrome as my browser and I am able to access all other sites except some. I have tried clearing the cache, cookies and the entire browser history and checked on other browsers too but no avail. The strange thing is that if I change my internet connection, the site works fine and all the pages open correctly but as soon as I revert back to my original BSNL connection, there is a problem. DNS error - cannot find server - SPECIFIC TO ONE WEBSITE [Solved] Started by richgcook , Jan 22 2009 11:29 AM This topic is locked #1 richgcook Posted 22 January 2009 - 11:29 AM richgcook Member Member 19 posts Hi there,Lately (for the past 3-4 months) I have been unable to access http://www.collectivegallery.net and when I try to visit the page it hangs http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/226079-dns-error-cannot-find-server-specific-to-one-website-solved/ for a few moments, and states 'DNS error - cannot find server' (I am using Google chrome), I have attempted to visit this site through IE or Firefox and the same problem occurs. My girlfriend in my flat has the exact same problem yet I asked a few friends who stay down the road to try and access it and they can do it no problem. I'm unsure whether I have a trojan, or something as I find it very odd that it happens with JUST the website.Any help and advice would be most appreciated as I really need to access this site on a regular basis and now I figure something is definitely wrong. If you wish a Hijack log I will post one. Thanks,Richard 0 Advertisements #2 Essexboy Posted 22 January 2009 - 03:09 PM Essexboy GeekU Moderator GeekU Moderator 69,945 posts Hi there if you could post the Hijackthis log plus one other and I will see where to go from there Disable resident protections (Antivirus...); you'll re-enable them after the scanDownload Lop S&D < hereDouble-click Lop S&D.exeChoose the language, then choose Option 1 (Search)Wait till the end of the scanPost the log which is created: (%SystemDrive%\lopR.txt) 0 #3 richgcook Posted 22 Jan
