Cannot find database DLL. Flupke (Programmer) (OP) 30 Oct 02 05:34 In a Visual Basic program, I use the Crystal Report OCX to display cannot find database my reports through the program.Recently, I installed Crystal Reports 9 on a new machine, that did not have CR 8.5 - the version I used to work with - before. The OCX was not installed and registered, so I had to do it manually. Now I get the Run-time error '20532', Cannot find database DLL when executing crpt.Action = 1 in my Visual Basic code. Can someone please help me how to fix this problem? Many thanks and greetings,Michel RE: Cannot find database DLL. bhargi (Programmer) 30 Oct 02 13:16 Hi,The error is due to missing dependency files. Look for P2smon.dll. If it is present and still you get error thenlook for Msvcrt.dll and Msvcirt.dll dependency filesfor P2smon.dll 7.0.100.3.Bagavi/Bhargi RE: Cannot find database DLL. chelseatech (Instructor) 31 Oct 02 15:55 I assume you installed CR9 developer?the Std and Pro editions do not include the right DLL's.Also CR9 installs the DLL's in a different folder. If you plan to use the CR8.5 OCX you will need to copy all the CR8.5 DLL's from Windows\Crystal.But note the CR8.5 OCX will not run the CR9 reports you are designing. What i get now is -> run time error '20599' Cannot open SQL server. ... Why this will happen? Anyone can tell me what file/dll file i need to include it into my installation? for the report i created.. i use DSN to connect to the database. do i need to change anything in my report? hhmm.. what abt the database location, do i need to do somethings abt it? coz the original report folder is not the same as the installation folder. Or maybe i should said... i develop the programme and then i make installation package. i install the programme into another PC. so will it affect my database location of the report?i hope someone here can understand what is my problem.. and please help. :confused:Reneè | Post Points: 20 bednarjm St. Louis, MO Since 12/9/2002 Posts 3,227 Reputation 23,500 Reply Jim Bednarek (bednarjm) replied on 5/27/2004 7:14 AM rated by 0 users You need to verify the report against the new database location. This isone of the biggest problems with crystal - when you move from a developmentdatabase to a production database you will need to verify the report againstthe new database. This is the reason we don't bind to a database when designingreports - instead we pass an ADO recordset to the report - in this way, if youcan connect to the database you can run the report no matter what the databaselocation.
