Somehow, the ko.cleanNode code: ko.cleanNode($('#genderAndSizeChooser')[0]); generates an error: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'nodeType' of undefined Anyone have an idea the cause of the error? knockout.js share|improve this question asked Sep 26 '14 at 5:07 Thorpe Obazee 8,33765281 1 Are you sure that there is actually an element with the id of genderAndSizeChooser? The ko.applyBindings call would receive undefined and apply bindings to the body like normal, so that would not error, but calling ko.cleanNode on undefined would cause an error. –RP Niemeyer Sep 26 '14 at 5:25 omg. The selectors are grabbed from the database and outputted to JS using PHP in a $myselector variable. This is my current code: var element_selector=''; $('#inline_docxdiv .Featured.Slider').position({ my: "center", at: "right top", of: $(element_selector) }); //append icons, applicable to all $(divname).append('
'); However the icons are not appended correctly and it returns an error in the console: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'nodeType' of undefined The strange thing is that if I hard-code the selector in the JS code (not outputted by PHP), everything works OK and no error returned in the console. This is the code where I hard-coded the element selector: var element_selector='.idoc-featured-slider'; Is there a way to use PHP to output the selector and not encountering the error? This was just an update of last months data which he was able to open just fine. However, this month when he tried to open the tableau worksheet the follow error arose stating "bad node type". I cannot find anything about this data engine error, can someone please help? The worksheet opens just fine on either one of my computers, and even when I move the extracts to a thumb drive and relink the extracts so I am not sure what the issue is for my coworker. Re: data engine error:4: bad node type Cody Bryant Nov 9, 2015 12:54 PM (in response to Katie Olmstead) Got this error 15 minutes before an important meeting with my customer; I can't open any data files or view anything. I guess I need to move off tableau...The only thing I did was move the files from one drive to another, similar to the above poster. Apparently tableau files can become corrupted and you lose all your data if you do this. Even the original copy can't be opened now. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: data engine error:4: bad node type Trent Haun May 3, 2016 7:57 AM (in response to Katie Olmstead) Hey Katie/Cody, both myself and a coworker are experiencing this very same thing at the moment (in 9.3). While I don't have an explanation, I was able to find a workaround that may help others stuck in a similar situation. In our case, it was two different TWBX files that each contained a very large TDE. They worked fine a month ago, but when we both independently went in to make updates, we both received an 'unable to load packaged workbook, unexpected error' message. The fix:To resolve the issue, I made a copy of the twbx workbook, and the renamed one of the copies to end in '.zip' instead of '.twbx'. We then unzipped the modified file, and could access the .twb and the .tde separately. Sure e
