The display reads "no disc" after the initial CD seek. I have removed all the CDs and the caddy and moved the disc order but still it is the same. I notice that although I can hear a motor whirring in the changer, the drawers are not actually opening (this used to happen as it checked each disc) Is there something I could try by stripping this down? Perhaps a gear or part has slipped or jammed? Also, is it easy to remove the changer from a Cabriolet? it looks like there is a lot of boot lining to remove first? I was listening to an album and it skipped for a few seconds (like it would with a scratched CD) and then continued playing the album ok. But the following day when I try and play any of the CDs, the display comes up with the CD number, like this for example: CD 1 -, and then after about 10 seconds it comes up saying "CD Error". I've tried changing all CDs to other CDs and tried real CDs (bought ones not CD-Rs). Still no luck. I've replaced the fuse in case it was on it's way out, and I've checked the connections out best I can, as well as taken the CD magazine out and checking that. I'm hoping this doesn't mean its come to the end of it's life Any help is greatly appreciated PLEASE READ - POSTING RULES // SELLING RULES //HOW TO CORRECT THREAD TITLESDIY E36 CCFL Angel EyesDIY Install HIDS in your E36Rear Badge RemovalRestore your External Trim Sponsored Links Remove Advertisements BimmerForums.co.uk Advertisements #2 wispamint Bimmer Fan Car Details wispamint's Car Details Model of Car:318is Year of Manufacture:1998 Transmission Type:manual Car Body Type:coupe Join Date Apr 2010 Location Newcastle Posts 12 Thanks 0 Thanked 6 Times in 6 Posts 01-07-2010, 16:48 Try taking it to bits and giving it a clean.
