New to the forum, but not new to reading it. You guys have helped me numerous times and I want to say "Thanks"! Second, my cd player. I am sure somewhere on here this has been addressed several times, but I'm still not that good at finding stuff on here. I'm probably just outta luck with my cd player, but here it goes. A friend of mine went to insert a new disc and pushed several buttons and it jammed with the disc partially in. I removed the disc, but it wouldn't play. It just says "cd error". Went out the next moring and it was working. Great! Then I inserted a new cd and "cd error" ever since. Radio still plays, but no cd's. Plus, after I shut the truck https://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=84394 off and open the door, it will make the noise where it sounds like its trying to switch cds again for about 30 seconds.is the cd player junk? what should i do? and do you guys have pics of aftermarket set ups i can look at? I REALLY need this fixed... no good stations around here and i dont have an ipod...thanks! I had my local Ford dearler get my last failure repaired after I removed it and the cost was $200. There is a member on this site and I don't have his user name but he at one time repaired sound systems for Ford, you might want to give the person a call, contact info:Kelvin Knaff GMBroadway Radio5899 Raytown Road STE # 103Raytown MO. 64133ph. 816-423-8103 Top w_pinkerton Regular Member Posts: 203 Joined: Sun Sep 30, 2007 12:37 pm Truck: 2004 F150 XLT 5.4 Location: Wisconsin My Truck Mods Re: stock 6 disk CD player

Any attempt to use any function of CD player results in CD ERROR displayed. Can I fix this myself or do I need a whole new unit(which I can't afford)? 11 Answers 925 Report Wayne answered 7 years ago Ok, am I to assume this is a 6disc in dash? 79 out of 79 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 705 Report 70Duster answered 5 years ago If Petamus1 has the same unit I do, the answer is YES. My indash unit is exhibiting the same issues. Any idea how to self-repair? Thanks in advance 23 out of 23 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful Report papa answered 5 years ago is it the factory one,or not.if it is pull the radio fuse, let it reset itself, about 10 min, replace fuse also check to see if fuse is blone. 16 out of 16 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 705 Report 70Duster answered 5 years ago papa - thx for reply; it's the solution that worked for me. To answer your question - it's a factory unit. I pulled both fuses for the unit to reset it (the fuses were both good). Worked like a charm. Other posts on web have talked about pulling the unit out to unhook the wiring harness or unhooking battery post to accomplish the same thing - but fuse pulling is a heckuva lot easier. Did not have to wait 10 minutes and didn't even lose my radio presets. Got my 5 cds out after 3 months of being stuck. 6 out of 6 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 260 Report warrenpropst answered 5 years ago I'm having the same problem that you had back in February. You mentioned that you removed "both fuses". I could only find one radio fuse and I removed it for about 30 minutes but this did not fix the problem. Where is a second fuse. Thanks. wepropst@sc.rr.com 26 out of 26 people think t
