Re: "Compile Error in Hidden Module: Distmon" (MarkATS) Jan 30, 2007 1:40 PM (in response to (dork_92618)) Remove all instances of the PDFMaker.dot and PDFMaker.xla files from \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office version/Startup folder and reinstall PDFMaker using the Help > Detect and Repair menu option in Acrobat. The first part, remove the PDFMaker.* files, was on the MS support site. My Office Startup Folder didn't contain either of those files to begin with. I did the Repair option under the help menu but, that wasn't the cure. I wonder if it had something to do with my uninstall of v7 before my install of v8? I'm going to uninstall and reinstall v8. other Microsoft Office programs, it is usually caused by an Adobe PDF addon that is having problems. According to Microsoft, this can happen if: 1. The Microsoft https://systembash.com/office-2007-error-compile-error-in-hidden-module-distmon/ Office Startup folder or the Microsoft Excel Startup folder contains either or https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22587269/Compile-Error-in-Hidden-Module-Excel-2007.html both of the following Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker add-in template files: Pdfmaker.dot Pdfmaker.xla AND 2. Norton AntiVirus software is installed. To fix it, delete the files from the startup Office folder. There are a few locations it might be, in my case it was in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART. See this compile error Microsoft KB Article on fixing the error. One in the MS Office installation directory - something like C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 - and the other in your C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel directory. The latter is usually a hidden directory so you may need to go into Windows Explorer, and select Tools-Folder Options and on the View tab, click the Show hidden files and folders option. You can also locate the xla via a search as long as you select the option to include hidden files and folders.
