Connection Error Prudppackethandlerexception Unresolved Host
the recent connection error issues users, including myself, are reporting. I read the solutions, to enable the public network, to resume torrents. vuze connection error network not enabled for url However, I neither want nor ever had that option active when Vuze used to work properly. It is clear by user reports that something has changed. My question is: 1) Has the recent Vuze update http://forum.vuze.com/Thread-connection-error-no-data-received-from-tracker fixed an bug that previously utilized public networks even though the option were disabled or 2) is there a new code that requires enabling public networks in order to use all other options? I think many of us are a little more courious, or skeptical, about what is happening since this issure came to light. Thank you. You may well fully understand this and if so please ignore it, but I'll go over it anyway for other potential readers. Normally bittorrent works over the Public internet - trackers have public IP addresses, as do peers (sure, they could be using a VPN, but they still have a public IP address) To use either the Tor or I2P networks (well, you shouldn't use Tor for anything other than tracking) you would need to manually install and configure the Tor/I2P software and then go ahead and configure Vuze appropriately - http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Anonymous_file_sh...or_and_I2P You would then need to find torrents that are hosted on trackers run over those networks. Trackers on the Public internet will only give you the public IP addresses of peers (well, in theory they could hand out Tor/I2P ones but I have yet to see such a tracker - you would need to trust it a lot not to hand out the public IP address it has for you...) So if you have a 'normal' torrent with trackers such as udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce they will only ever deal with public IP addresses. They will never give you an I2P or Tor network address. P

I have been using Vuze for several years now, but recently I changed to Win 10 (with problems) and had to re-download Vuze and start from scratch with no http://forum.vuze.com/Thread-solved-sudden-stopage-Connection-Error-Network-not-enabled-for-url Upload Ratio (I was previously on a ration of 1.7). My download speeds are fine, but I don't seem to be able to upload very fast and my Ratio is improving very slowly. I keep getting connection error "scrape o.k." on my files (there are plenty of peers, but no smiley face on the majority, which are not uploading) and I am sometimes getting "Connection Error PRUDPP PacketHandlerException Unresolved host tracker.istole.it" on the few that ARE uploading. I have 9 files (all with peers) but only 3 of them will upload. I have never had this before. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Are you still getting that [connection error . . . ] status message? Scrape ok is what you want to see by the way . . . in the most simple terms that is just an indication that everything is operating as expected. Also your ratio is not tied to your torrent client it is tied to the ratio driven site to which you are a member of. Yes once you download a new version of Vuze . . . Vuze will start your ratio back at zero but that is not what matters it is your ratio at the site in question which matters which is stored by that site. If you are on ratio driven trackers the site stores your ratio and that is the ratio that matters not the ratio shown in your torrent client. Having said that the tracker istole.it is a public tracker (not a ratio driven tracker) and ratios are not recorded at all. It does not matter if your ratio is 0.000 or 5,000.00 there are no ramifications to having a bad ratio at a public tracker. The fix, I think, turned out to be uninstalling File Type Advisor which had found it's way onto my computer via a free program to convert my book from a .doc file to a Kindle friendly format. So maybe check your installed programs and see if there's been something installed lately that might be interfering. And we've reached the end of my technical knowledge. I'm just so happy and relieved the digital river is flowing again. G
