However, everytime I run the code I get the following error: java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection at oracle.jdbc.driver.SQLStateMapping.newSQLException(SQLStateMapping.java:70) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.newSQLException(DatabaseError.java:110) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:171) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:227) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:439) at oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.checkError(T2CConnection.java:653) at oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.logon(T2CConnection.java:338) at oracle.jdbc.driver.PhysicalConnection.

The database connection pool (DPCP) or C3PO (if using direct JDBC) is not able to detect when the network connection has been terminated. It is only when Confluence attempts to use a connection from the pool that a 'Closed Connection' exception is raised. Resolution Refer to the document Surviving Connection Closures to add in validation queries for your database. This will allow the datasource connection to run a validation query against the database before usage to verify

I'm able to access my MSSQL https://coderanch.com/t/509517/JDBC/databases/reason-java-sql-SQLException-Closed from MSQL Studio. defined my index.js file as below, but it keeps give me this error: { [ConnectionError: Connection is closed.] name: 'ConnectionError', message: 'Connection is closed.', code: 'ECONNCLOSED'} what wrong I'm doing, if below database connection is my code, thanks var sql = require('mssql'); var config = { user: 'sa', password: 'bk123', server: 'HASN-BK\\SQLEXPRESS', database: 'BK', stream: true } sql.connect(config, function(err) { var request = new sql.Request(); request.stream = true; request.query('SELECT * from emp'); request.on('recordset', function(columns) { console.log(columns); // Emitted once for each recordset in a query }); request.on('row', function(row) { console.log(row); // Emitted for each row in a recordset }); request.on('error', function(err) { console.log(err); // May db connection error be emitted multiple times }); request.on('done', function(returnValue) { // Always emitted as the last one }); }); mutato commented Mar 17, 2015 What version of SQLServer are you using? I had the same problem after upgrading to version 2.1 from 1.3. I have only 2008R2 here to use and test so I'm only speculating that version 2.1 has problems with older SQLServer versions. Going back to 1.3 solved the issue for me. MJLang commented Mar 26, 2015 Seeing the same issue since upgrading to 2.1 - Using SQL Azure. tracker1 commented Mar 26, 2015 From the example on the homepage, set encrypt option... options: { encrypt: true // Use this if you're on Windows Azure } NOTE: you really should be checking your err before trying to use your connection. We found a exception for "java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection" in a demo site recently. I don't understand why connection is closed , and what could be the reason. In demo site, it happens everytime, so it looks like not other thread to close the connection. Could anyone point me the possible reason for "java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection" in this case? if (m_conn == null)) return null; PreparedStatement stmt = null; ResultSet result = null; try { Line 805: stmt = m_conn.prepareStatement( "select value from v$osstat where stat_name = 'NUM_CPU_CORES'"); // throw "Closed Connection" exception in this line result = stmt.executeQuery(); 2010-09-07 06:44:37,411logp.251 - java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection at oracle.jdbc.driver.SQLStateMapping.newSQLException(SQLStateMapping.java:70) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.newSQLException(DatabaseError.java:133) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:199) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:263) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:271) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:445) at oracle.jdbc.driver.PhysicalConnection.prepareStatement(PhysicalConnection.java:3127) at oracle.jdbc.driver.PhysicalConnection.prepareStatement(PhysicalConnection.java:3042) at sysman.util.jdbc.ConnectionWrapper.prepareStatement(ConnectionWrapper.java:577) at sysman.emo.util.ValueResolver.getCpuCores(ValueResolver.java:805) Sandeep Sanaboyina Ranch Hand Posts: 72 posted 6 years ago You are getting a Closed Connection exception because by line 805, your connection object m_conn is getting closed. It won't be possible to tell why it is getting closed with the code you have provided. Instead of using if (m_conn == null)) return null; useif (m_conn == null)) return null; if (m_conn.isClosed()) return null; That should stop the application from throwing the exception. But, to find out why the connection is closed, you will have to dig in some more ito your code. They say you have to be the first, the best or different. I say, is it too much to ask for all three.
