Application pool "unspecified error" « on: January 07, 2007, 06:47:21 PM » Hi,I have a couple of web microsoft access database engine error '80004005' unspecified error servers running at CT and they work fine. I host sites using PHP and ASP/ASP.Net in these servers. But I have a server with strange behaviors. When I restart the server, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/926939 all services start automatically, including IIS Server. The problem is that some of the application pools don't start and display a status of "unspecified error" in the IIS manager. I have to start manually all application pools that don't start in the server restart. In the Ebent Viewer I found the following entry:A process serving application pool 'app_pool' terminated unexpectedly. The https://webservices.thesba.com/forum/index.php?topic=30969.0 process id was '1020'. The process exit code was '0x80'.Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Say yes. Then it will let you know what App Pool is associated with the PID number. this might help to pinpoint which App Pools are specifically having the issues.Thank you,Jayson E. Everything was working fine up until today, when I started getting weird 'Unspecified Error' error messages. I ended up doing an IIS reset to resolve the problem, but I'm trying to figure out why it may have happened in the first place. Any ideas? Here is my connection string: provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source = \REMOTESERVER\LocalDatabases$\database.mdb;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=password" Thanks in advance! .net ms-access iis-7 share|improve this question asked Jan 16 '09 at database engine error 23:46 C G I don't see that there is a real question here. There is certainly not enough information to help you. –Mitch Wheat Jan 16 '09 at 23:49 That's not particularly his fault. "Unspecified Error" is notoriously difficult to diagnose so asking for complete "shot in the dark" suggestions seems legitimate to me. –Spencer Ruport Jan 17 '09 at 0:17 I'd disagree somewhat. Certainly there is more information in the exception than that (a stack trace, inner exception, but SOMETHING). –casperOne Jan 17 '09 at 3:22 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote If everything was working fine up until today, something must have changed. If no one has changed the code or configuration for IIS, then it must be something else on the server (or the network share). Given that we just went though a patch-Tuesday, I would suspect that someone updated either the webserver or the network server. See if there is a patch you can roll-back . share|improve this answer answered Jan 17 '09 at 6:29 BIBD 9,0682060102 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Check if you are closing properly the database at the end of your routines. This can cause these messages eventually. Bye! share|improve this answer answered May 18 '09 at 23:40 Ricardo add a comment| up vote 0 down vote I do
