When I ran the install, I got an error (2349). Does anyone see this before? What does it really mean? It happens when copying the files. Thanks very much, Flannan. It most commonly occurs because the CD is dirty or scratched. 2. This issue may also occur if you use a DVD or CD-RW drive. In your situation, it is most likely to be the second one The documentation "OFF2000: Error Message: Internal Error 2349..." is available from Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329386 Borland also provides a document "Internal error 2349 while installing ..." at http://community.borland.com/article...,28746,00.html To resolve the issue, 1. Please copy the setup onto your hard drive and launch it; or 2. Use a CD-ROM drive to install. Hope this helps resolve the issue. Development Hi everyone, I'm repackaging an application. When i install the MSI, i get a Internal Error 2349 during the InstallFiles Action. When i remove the http://www.itninja.com/question/internal-error-2349 file which is causing the next file to create this error... I know it's originaly a MSI, but the vendor MSI is real bad, so i decided to repackage it. When i remove this file from the package it hangs with the same error on the next file in the file table. Personally i think the problem lies in the "Executing op: ChangeMedia(", but i can't find

In my daily life as an Systems Engineer, this programming experience is very useful when making scripts in DOS batch, Kixtart, VBScript, VBA and more recently Powershell. I programmed mainly in Turbo Pascal and VB, and I sometimes used C/C++ and even Assembler! That was a long time ago, but due a recent idea that I came up with my programming skills are once again required. The main problem is that I haven't programmed in C/C++ for about 10 years, and my idea requires programming in C/C++. This means that I have to do a refresher course in C/C++ first. I decided to download and install the trial version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 - Ultimate. After installing this VS2010 I noticed there was an security update available for this product: KB2542054, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 RTM MFC Security Update I download this security update (VS10-KB2542054-x86.exe), unfortunately the update failed to install… The following error message was given: The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2349 I looked up this Windows Installer code 2349, which means Copy resumed with different info. This didn't make me any wiser… Instead of installing this update through Windows update, I downloaded and installed the update manually. This didn't work either. I continued my quest to resolve this problem, by looking into the detailed installation log file: C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\KB2542054_20110729_205706729-Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate - ENU-MSP2.txt. (Your file name and location may differ) I searched this log file for the error code "2349" and immediately found the corresponding entry in the log file, including the description I got when the update failed to install.
