a while and found a fix: 1) Go to Start > Run > type regedit 2) Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell Folders" if there is no string in there called "Programs" put that in with the value: C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs

After using this fix I re-inserted my disc, and this time the D2 loader appeared. I've tried all three installation choices and it keeps messing up at the same place. I choose an installation option, enter my name and serial key (yes, it is valid), and the box asking where the game would be installed pops up. The default is: C://Program Files/Diablo II/ I select ok and get this error: Error in script file SetupDat\inst.ins, line diablo 2 windows 7 full screen 14: undefined symbol (desktop). Then the installer closes. I have looked on-line and can't find a solution to this problem. Can anyone help me out with this? Sylar, Nov 2, 2007 #1 McTimson Joined: Aug 15, 2002 Messages: 5,577 I searched for other errors, and there are definitely issues with Vista and Diablo II, so you're not alone. I found this post, which is basically the same thing you just did, but with a little bit of extra info, it may be worth trying that. Otherwise, I would try running it in compatibility mode. In My Computer, right-click the CD drive, and hit open, then right-click each .exe file in there, hit Properties, and run them in Windows XP compatibility mode. I got a virus on my limited account. I eventually got rid of the virus, but it really messed up my limited account, so I moved all of my files over to the admin account and deleted the limited account. Recently with D2 not working, I decided to create a new full administrator account and try installing it with that account and it installed. I installed the expansion pack, upgraded, and

I used the mounted ISO's to do the installs, and everything went very smoothly. Once the game plus expansion were installed, I mounted the expansion ISO to the diablo 2 drive, and clicked on the image to run it. It brings up the "Play Diablo II: Lord of Destruction" window. I click Play, and after about 10 seconds, it gives me the, "There is no disc, please insert the disc and click retry" message. I have tried creating an ISO using the MDF/MDS format, MDX format, as well as the basic ISO. I have tried each of those 3 options on all 3 different diablo 2 windows types of virtual drives (DT, SCSI, and IDE), and what I explained above happens every single time regardless of the setup. I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Or if you want to use your current image you can activate the SecuROM emulation under Preferences/Advanced - should work as well. But the best solution: Patch 1.12 for Diablo II removes the CD Check - just perform a full installation and apply the latest patch. I'm not employed by Disc Soft and my views do not necessarily reflect the ones of the company. Now when I click on the image and click Play, nothing happens. When I check the Task Manager, Diablo 2 seems to be running, but nothing ever appears on the screen. I finally get the "There is no disc" error message when I end the Diablo 2 process. I'm not sure how to select/change the profile either. Reply With Quote 23.10.2012,13:49 #4 Terr

When I run the program, I can hear the sound at first, but once I enter a game there is no more sound. And even if I exit back to the menu, there is still no sound, but if I close the program and re-open it then same like before (sound until I enter a game). I'm using wine-1.2. If I run the game from terminal, I get the following output Code: fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100 fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00004100 $ fixme:advapi:SetSecurityInfo stub fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x13c778,0x13c6d8): stub fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x13c778,0x13c6d8): stub fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x13c778,0x13c6d8): stub but this outpu
