Customers need to follow the same steps if their receivers fail to turn on, cannot connect to the Internet, or experience hard drive failure. If troubleshooting does dish network not work, DISH customers should contact the company or the receiver's manufacturer. Receiver Does Not Turn on According to DISH Network, power failures are rare. When they occur, it is typically due to local power outages or faulty surge protectors. There are three troubleshooting options when the receiver fails to turn on. Check the Wall Switch or Power Strip In some cases, the wall switch or power strip dish network dvr might turn off, which makes the receiver turn off as well. Make sure the wall switch or power strip is on and operational. If it is, move on to the next option. Push Front Panel Power Button Find the power button on the front panel of the DISH Network receiver. In some models, the button is located inside of the panel door, while others are on the outside. Push the power button. If that does not fix the problem, move on to the final step. Reset the Receiver Unplug the receiver from the wall or power strip. Count to 10 and plug the receiver back in to the wall or power strip. Wait for the receiver to reset. This might take five minutes. Then, see if the receiver powers on.
