You really should be more tactful when telling someone their DVR's entire hard drive is completely wiped out. It may not be as bad as having your computer's HD wiped out, but I know in my case I had dozens of hours of programming on there, now completely lost. Not to mention all the hours I spent programming various shows to record, favorite settings, etc. that I will now have to do all over again. And while most people already know to backup their computer data, I had never heard of backing up your DVR data (until now, when it's too late, of course). So try to be a little more empathetic to how the person on the receiving news of "You will need the receiver replaced" might feel when you simply blurt that out like it's nothing.
