It would by far not be the first time that the updater fails to alert you of an available update. Also, re-boot your Mac.____________Wo Tai Lao Le我太老了

I had this exact same problem with my old Windows PC; I cannot believe I am getting the same thing https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4261881?tstart=0 with my brand new Mac! Photoshop keeps crashing, with a message about: 'temporarily disabled GPU http://blog.allcome.co.uk/uncategorized/photoshop-has-encountered-a-problem-with-the-display-driver/ enhancements; check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software'. What 'video card manufacturer? What software? I thought everything on the Mac was from Apple; but I've looked for software updates & can't see anything about video cards or GPU (whatever this is). Can anyone help / explain what this message is about? I bought the Mac to get away from Windows, & I don't have any of those things you listed. I thought the Mac was going to be a wonderful, smooth, hassle-free experience, but I've had nothing but problems! I sometimes go onto websites that tell me to download things in order to view content; The latest was something called 'Flip4Mac' - this was just to view what seems like an ordinary website (for a music festival) - I really don't know why I had to download what seems to be a version of Windows media Player (why isn't the Mac capable of viewing website content without this?), but could it be this that has caused a problem? Photoshop CS5 Extended: Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website ofr the latest software. GPU enhancements ca be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences. My Graphics card is: ATI/AMD Readon hd2600 pro. I have updated the driver. But the problem is still there. Google this problem, I found this answer from adobe website: If Photoshop fails to launch, crashes, or disappears because of a GPU problem, Photoshop turns off Enable OpenGL Drawing. The next time you open Photoshop, you will see the error message, "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences. Important: After this error displays, if you turn on Enable OpenGL Drawing before you update your driver, then Photoshop uses the old display driver and will continue to fail or crash. If you do not turn on Enable OpenGL Drawing, then the GPU won't be accessed and Photoshop opens. I remembered now, I were reading a article in Tomshardware, it mentioned about the 2D performance in the driver of ATI/AMD and nvidia. In my opinion, those two graphics card manufactures they are lazy for the 2D improvement in the device driver, as they think that doesn't bring any profits, Greedy and nasty people there. 🙁 Filed under Uncategorized · Tagged with photopshop About admin Comments One Response to "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver" Jonathan says: March 9, 2015 at 10:56 am After struggling for 5 days on the issue, I finally resolved the error by increasing the cache size in the performance section of the Photoshop preferences.
