I'm trying to backup a copy of Stuart Little 2 to dvdr. I've read the guide on doom9 for dvd shrink and every thing seemed fine until i come to decrypt/ backup. I get an error message saying 'copy protection error'
Dvd Decryptor

Any help on the problem would be much appreciated, thanks Quote 9th May 200414:14 #2 budz View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message DVD Ninja Join Date : Jan 2003 Location : In the shadows..... Try playing the dvd in your computer first with power dvd or whatever program you have that can playback dvd movies. Sometimes playing the movie for a few seconds will unlock the copy encryption on the movie. Then try using DVD SHRINK. You can also use DVD DECRYPTER to RIP in FILE mode then use DVD SHRINK to shrink it. I went back to using 3.0 beta, with no problems

Dvd Shrink Copy Protection Error Incorrect Function
Trophy Points: 26 I having trouble for the first time using dvd Shrink. I'm using dvd shrink error out of memory my sony DW-U10A to make a back up of "Biker Boyz". I can open the disk just fine, but I get an error dvd shrink error failed to read file when I try to back the disc up. Right before it starts encoding it stops and says "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. The error is: failed to read from file. The Reason is: Copy protection http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/165026-Copy-protection-error-when-using-DVD-Shrink error- The read failed because th sector is encrypted." Anyone know how to get around this or are we no longer able to make back ups? If anyone can help me that would be great. bridq, Sep 13, 2003 #1 koola Guest Download AnyDVD which will decrypt the DVD and remove the "Copy Protection Error". Thanks a lot for you help!! bridq, Sep 14, 2003 #4 bridq Regular member Joined: Aug 7, 2003 Messages: 169 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 26 IT DIDN'T WORK!! Koola, I thought it was working when I was able to decrypt it, but I was wrong. I installed any dvd and then started to use dvd shrink, but it still didn't work. It got to about 59% before I received an error message. It now says "Failed to read from file. The reason is: Data error (cylic redundancy check)" Do you know how to fix this one? I know it's not my dvd writer because I have been making back ups perfectly. "copy protection error" " the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. i am running windows xp, dvd shrink amd xp2000,512 mb, 40gb harddrive what am i doing wrong because my brother has the same system but he is running windows me instead of window xp like me and his works fine NEC 2500A $20 10/04 NEC 3500AG for $47 4/05 NEC 3540 for $35 9/05 BENQ 1620 for $36 9//05 liteonrules CD-RW Player Posts: 230Joined: Sat Nov 16, 2002 11:34 copy protection error pmLocation: pittsburgh, pa Top by hoxlund on Fri Jul 16, 2004 2:40 am did he try ripping the exact same dvd?
