Dvd Shrink Error Out Of Memory
for a months now with no problems and this the first time i've tried to rip a DVD. I'm trying to backup a copy of Stuart Little 2 to dvdr. I've read the guide on doom9 for dvd shrink and every thing seemed fine until i come to decrypt/ backup. I get an error message saying 'copy protection error' and 'I/O device error'. I'm just trying to rip dvd shrink error failed to read file the film to my hard drive in video_ts files so i can burn them after. Any help on the problem would be much appreciated, thanks Quote 9th May 200414:14 #2 budz View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message DVD Ninja Join Date : Jan 2003 Location : In the shadows..... Try playing the dvd in your computer first with power dvd or whatever program you have that can playback dvd movies. Sometimes playing the movie for a few seconds will unlock the copy encryption on the movie. Then try using DVD SHRINK. You can also use DVD DECRYPTER to RIP in FILE mode then use DVD SHRINK to shrink it. I went back to using 3.0 beta, with no problems. Quote 10th May 200417:37 #4 handyguy View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date : Ma

Dvd Shrink Error The Parameter Is Incorrect

I have been backing up DVDs for some time now and dvd shrink encountered an error am quite experienced, but I'm having a problem that I can't figure out. I have a current version of ANYDVD to avoid the copy protection and I'm using DVD Shrink to rip and compress. When I try http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/165026-Copy-protection-error-when-using-DVD-Shrink to open the file in DVD Shrink, I get an error message saying: DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read file "D:\" Usually, I would think this was due to a dirty or scratched disc or maybe my DVD drive is dirty, but I have tried it in the same old DVD drive and also in my brand new external burner. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions would http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-encountered-an-error-and-cannot-continue-failed-to-read-file.534491/ be greatly appreciated. xtender67, Mar 3, 2007 #1 binkie7 Moderator Staff Member Joined: Feb 12, 2005 Messages: 18,494 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 96 There's a few out there that have the newer Sony protection like this one that Shrink and AnyDVD won't work on. You can do movie only w/ Recode and AnyDVD. Try CloneDVD - AnyDVD companion - not free but has a 21 day free trial. Rip w/ DVDFab Decrypter (free) 1st then open those files in Shrink. link Or RipIt4Me - which uses all free programs like Shrink, Decrypter and FixVTS. link The above ways will work w/ this one. binkie7, Mar 3, 2007 #2 swk Member Joined: Mar 5, 2007 Messages: 4 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 This is soooo ironic, it's spooky. I am also an experienced user of DVD Shrink, Decrypter, and am currently running AnyDVD version 6.1.3.0. Have been backing up happily until today when I was backing up the EXACT movie, listed by xtender67 "Stranger Than Fiction". Also today, I have received this error message on another movie "Zoom: Academy for Superheroes" as well... Not a Sony picture. First time I've seen this error code while using Shrink. ------------------------------------------- So, to clarify, I'm receiving error code while doing the following: 1. With AnyDVD running in background, I first attempted to run
and transcoding. a comment Go to comments Scenario : You recently bought a DVD and want to copy it to your PC cos you want a backup BUT you are unable to copy the contents as you keep getting the Error : "Error 0x80030309 : Copy Protection Error". What do you do ?? Solution : This is a very common Error you get when you try to copy contents of a Copyrighted DVD. It is because of a Method called Content Scramble System (CSS) which is used to encrypt the DVD's to prevent their contents from being copied. A little History, CSS is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) system employed on almost all commercially produced DVD-Video discs and was developed primarily by Matsushita and Toshiba, introduced in 1996. CSS utilizes a proprietary 40-bit stream cipher algorithm. However, in October 1999, the CSS algorithm was cracked and posted on the Internet, triggering endless controversies and legal battles Not much has changed since that time as the manufacturers of DVD players and the producers of DVDs have to maintain compatibility with the vast amount of material released and changing and adding to this encryption scheme would render a lot of current titles unplayable. The computer program capable of decrypting content on a commercially produced DVD video disc is called DeCSS Enough Jibber - Jabber, I own the DVD and i want a Backup….what do i do ?? OK, To the point…to do so we are going to use a freeware Software called " DVD Shrink " [ See Wikipedia Link here ] DVD Shrink is a free software application that allows you to backup your DVD disks. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disk. Do note that DVD Shrink does not burn DVDs! The output from DVD Shrink is saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn to a DVD-R using separate burning software, such as the software provided with your DVD-R drive. DVD Shrink is very useful because normally most DVD's prevent you from making copies either by encryption(CSS) or making it so large that they are hard to fit on onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes these problems with built-in decryption algorithms(DeCSS) and by modifying or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD. (In my Experiment, it reduced 7.2GB to 4.35GB in about 22 minutes, of course half of it was the encryption data but still it counts!!! ) And did i mention that it was FREEEE!!
