Dvd Shrink Encountered An Error Failed To Read File
Las Vegas The most likely culprit is one (or more) of the newer copy protection schemes giving a screwed up rip that DvdShrink is choking on. If that's the case, you can use the "PSL2 Plugin for PgcEdit" to get a dvd compliant rip. The PSL2 Plugin now has a package available (for free) at the official forum (here) in the "PSL2 Plugin Installer" forum. Once the package is installed, the PSL2 Plugin will help you to easily rip and repair dvd's infested with the latest copy protection systems (so DvdShrink can process the files without problems). If that doesn't solve your problem, there is a list of other possible causes here. One way around this is to use CloneDVD in conjunction with AnyDVD. CloneDVD is like dvdshrink, and anydvd just runs in the background, but allows you to do copy protected dvds. There is a way around it with dvd shrink, but you have to use 2 other programs with it and run the movie through twice, which is very time consuming. I just helped my brother restore an old Pentium III 1.2ghz computer from his work. It was given to him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiTqfRT1gc8 without a hard drive. We got a hard drive, replaced the 50x CDROM with a Lite-On DVD burner SHW-160P6S and an Emprex combo drive COMBO 5216IB (CDRW/DVDROM/7 in 1 card reader). It has Windows XP dvd shrink SP2, and Nero Startsmart that came with one of the optical drives. I was able to copy a few DVDs, but now the Emprex (which I use as the source drive) doesn't work when using DVD Shrink. Whenever I try to open a DVD a little window pops up saying "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid DVD navigation structure." When I put the disc in the Lite-On, DVD dvd shrink encountered Shrink works fine. According to InfoTool, the Lite-On has no region code selected, while the Emprex is listed as Region 1. Also, the Emprex has 4 region changes left while the Lite-On has 5. I'm located in the U. S. and A. I didn't mess with the drives. The only thing I did was put the new drives in (Lite-On is D: and Emprex is E and connected the power and ribbon cables. Both optical drives and the hard drive are on Cable Select (though I don't think this is the problem as I was able to use the Emprex as the source drive before). Any suggestions on how to get the Emprex to work with DVD Shrink? It's easier to just have a source drive and destination drive than to just use one drive and swapping out the source and blank discs. 07-06-2007 #2 Mr. Belvedere MyCE Resident Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: (╯°□°)╯ ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლ Posts: 19,403 Re: DVD Shrink 3.2 "Invalid DVD Structure" You could try to find a region-free firmware at www.rpc1.org The current (and future) batches of original DVD's have additional copy protection on them which prevents DVDShrink from working. Try using the RipIt4Me method. __________________ "Use the force Harry!" - Gandalf &laq
