With DVD Shrink 3.2 I've tried to back-up the disks of
Cyclic Redundancy Error Dvd Shrink
a television series-- released in 2006-- but each disk strangely gives me the exact same result. First, the video preview shows that it completes the initial 'Analyzing' process correctly reviewing the entire contents of the disk. Then,
Dvd Shrink Error Cyclic Redundancy Check
when beginning the back-up phase, the video preview image is blank (completely black) through 4% of the deep analysis and the decryption status of the disk reads 'not encrypted'. Then, the video preview shows the title menu running through its sequence several times, by 8% the warning message comes up 'Data error: cyclic redundancy check' and DVD shrink will not continue. I noticed on several sources online people were suggesting that the disk was probably dvd shrink cyclic redundancy error fix dirty or scratched. But this same scenario happens with ALL the disks of this same TV series and none of them are dirty or scratched. Still, I tried cleaning one of the disks and trying again and this time DVD shrink stopped it right away and said "DVD shrink cannot continue: copy protection error". It 'remembers' each disk I've already put in and received the 'CRC' message with and the 2nd time the disk is tried it catches the disk right away, spitting out a 'COPY PROTECTION ERROR'. I never had this situation occur before and I can shrink/back-up other disks easily. I was wondering if, because this series was released so recently, and DVD shrink probably hasn't been updated recently, if the disks just had a more sophisticated copy protection/encrytion than DVD shrink could handle. Or am i over-looking something I can do to alter the settings and bypass the problem? Any suggestions? eg463665, Oct 29, 2007 #1 laddyboy Regular member Joined: Jan 4, 2005 Messages: 4,188 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 46 Why not try ripping your DVDs to your HDD with DVDFab HD Decrypter and then processing with DVD Shrink. http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=HDDECRYPTER laddyboy, Oct 29, 2007 #2 ZoSoIV Regular member Joined: Oct 24, 2007 Messages: 4,117 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 46 yeah dvd shrink won't hand

If

there is a problem with the transfer and the data does not match dvd backup copy protection on both sides, then a cyclic redundancy check error will occur. This can happen in Windows while reading a disc clone dvd copy protection or in any number of programs, including DVD Shrink. Possible causes include a scratched or damaged disc, a faulty optical drive, or the result of trying to back up a copy-protected disc.Things http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-and-cyclic-redundancy-check-copy-protection-error.594936/ You'll NeedComputer with burn-capable optical driveDVD Shrink softwareDVD to be copiedDisc cleaning kit (optional)Water or rubbing alcohol (optional)Cotton shirt (optional)Step 1Rule out the optical drive (the DVD player on the computer) as the cause of the error by attempting to read other discs with the drive. If you're successful, the drive can be ruled out as the cause of the CRC error, leaving the disc https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-fix-a-dvd-shrink-error-cyclic-redundancy-check as the culprit. The disc could be scratched or damaged, or it could've had copy protection against duplication written into it when it was burned. If the optical drive fails to read other discs, then there is likely some problem with the drive itself.Step 2Rule out the surface quality of the disc to be backed up. Even if it looks fine, check to make sure it plays or reads normally outside of DVD Shrink. The DVD could have been incorrectly burned. This happens often with cheaper CD and DVD media; it is rather rare with commercial DVDs. If you can rule out the surface quality of the DVD as a cause for the error, go to step 4. If not, see step 3 for information on attempting to clean the disc.Step 3Clean the faulty disc. It is possible for any amount of scratching, grime or residue to cause read errors. Use a disc cleaning kit, or use water or alcohol and a piece of cotton shirt. Make sure that you wipe against the tracks and not with them; wiping with the tracks can cause further damage.Step 4Having determined that the cause of the

If not please remove post. I've been trying to rip a DVD that states on the DVD label "Copy Protection" and that no viewable copy can be made. It's dvd shrink a DVD9, Dual Layer Single Sided Disc. When I try to rip the files I get a CRC error. I've tried DVD Decrypter, ONES, CloneDVD DVD-cloner and even DVDShrink. With DVD Decrypter is fails at around 5% and by the looks of it the others progs also fail around about the same place. I've checked the disc and there doesn't seem to be any scratches or finger marks and I've cleaned it thoroughly but all to no avail. I've also tried dvd shrink crc both my burners-a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108 Firmware v1.18 (that can handle dual layer) and LITE-On DVDRW LDW-851S Firmware GS0P. I've read somewhere that some "Copy Protected" DVDs have a CRC error burned into the disc so that the ripping process fails. If that's the case with this one it's the first time I've come across it. I've even followed the advice given by MOVIEGEEK i.e. If you encounter an error while ripping with DVDDecrypter go to Tools->Settings and set Structure Protection Removal Method to Aggressive, then go to I/O tab and enable Ignore Read Errors.Setting Transfer Length to Manual/32KB might help. If anyone can offer any help I'd be much obliged. Theres not much that can be done. Quote: P.S I do have NERO 6 so perhaps can try with that, but don't know where to start, THOUGHT that Shrink was the best program to do that. If your just doing a straight copy with no copy protection from one DVD to another, try Nero. Shrink is only necessary for compressing DVD9 to DVD5. __________________ AMD 64 4400+ X2 'Toledo' @ 2.6Ghz DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert 2x 1024Mb DDR OCZ PC4000 Gold 2x Sparkle 7800GTX 256Mb DDR3 in SLI (513/1280) 2x Arctic NV Silencer 5 rev 3 120G Seagate SATA 250G Seagate SATA Benq DW1640 Swiftech Extreme Liquid Cooling
