I can play or maybe I'm wrong - help? weehawk, Nov 8, 2004 #1 ScubaPete Senior member Joined: Mar 13, 2003 Messages: 6,324 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 116 Hi weehawk, welcome to aD, A "CRC" error is most often caused by bad media - it could be any of the following: 1. A dirty disc, 2. A scratched disc 3. A poor quality disc (cheap media if it happens during the "Burn" section of your work) 4. A bad disc from the Mfgr. It dvd shrink cyclic redundancy error fix can also be from a bad optical component in your drive. At this time I don't believe it's your drive at all. If you recently purchased this disc new from a store, I would return it as defective if just cleaning and the proper use of DVD Decrypter doesn't get the job done. I'd like you to check your DVD Decrypter's settings. First, it should be version 3.5.1.0. Go to "Tools", "Settings", set everything to "Default". Then in the "General" tab change, "Removal Method" from "Normal" to "Aggressive", in "File Mode", "tick" Remove PUO's." For ripping in the "ISO Read Mode", "tick" "Remove PUO's" there also. in the "CSS" tab, under "CSS Cracking Method", choose "Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange" and "On Failure" choose "Yes". . IMPORTANT: In the "I / O" tab, in the bottom right, "tick" the box which says, "Ignore read errors". This is an excellent setting for dealing with scratched discs which may cause ripping problems. Some people like ripping with DVD Decrypter using the "File" "Mode" BUT, especially for episodel-type DVD's, I feel that nothing can beat ripping the DVD using the "ISO", "Read", "Mode". After you've ripped your disc using the "ISO" "Read" "Mode", open DVD Shrink go to File", "Open Disc Image " to locate your ISO image - after allowing DVD Shrink to load up the image, just process it as usual then burn to disc using your burner of choice. HINT: If you are going to burn with DVD Decrypter, DON'T FORGET TO - go back to DVD Decrypter after rippi

Dvd Shrink 3.2 Cyclic Redundancy
Posts: 202 [Solved]Overcoming CRC errors in DVD shrink I hope this topic isn't illegal...... I am allowed to make a backup copy nero crc error for personal use aren't I??? The kids favourite DVD at the moment is "Babe", but they are literally loving it to death. 3 year olds love to do stuff by themselves (including load the DVD player), http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-data-error-cyclic-redundancy-check.321265/ but they have no idea how to treat a DVD properly. I tried to back it up with DVDShrink but the program halts mid-backup with a CRC error, and won't complete the job - probly because of a fingerprint or scratch. However the DVD plays fine all the way through when watching it. How can I back it up? __________________ Hopeless, helpless and mostly harmless Last edited by wot?; 13th April 2009 at http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=771543 9:52 AM. NOTE: deep gouges on the dvd wont be fixed by above. only dirt and finger prints. __________________ Originally Posted by Randy_Chuggs - I just get down on all fours and suck it out Originally Posted by Subcommandante - Who are DVDA? Can't Post I have a Nationals 2002 DVD that has developed a CRC error when I try to play it on my PCs (all of them, 4 different drives all with the same http://club.myce.com/f34/dvd-shrink-problem-data-error-cyclic-redundancy-check-125523/ problem so I'm sure it's the disk). OTOH, my home DVD player seems to ignore the error and keep going, playing it just fine. Short of recording (analog output) from the DVD player to tape dvd shrink and capturing and burning an all-new DVD, is there any way to extract the files on the PC, ignoring the sectors (or whatever storage units they are) that have the CRC errors? Its a tool used to extract and dvd shrink crc shrink all of the data on a DVD disk for the purpose of backing it up/copying it. If the data on the disk isn't over 4.7GB then it won't perform any unnecessary compression on the video. Once you have the .VOB files extracted from the disk you can use any DVD burning software (nero) to make a new disk. DVD Shrink doesn't have the option to "ignore CRC errors", but it is most likely to be a little less picky about that than the software you are trying to view the disk with. If that doesn't work though, you could probably use something like nero to do a DVD to DVD copy of the disk and I'm pretty sure that you can specify that you want it to ignore CRC errors. The disk would have to be copyright protection free though since Nero won't copy it otherwise. Hence the need for DVD Shrink. I'm not positive on the nero CRC stuff though and I'm not at home where I can check. *shrug* Its worth a try. One of those disk scratch removal kits may not be a bad idea either. -syn kallend(D23151) Feb16,2005,5:33PM Post #3 of 6 (1314 views) Shortcut Re: [Synapse] CRC error - how to get ar

P.S I do have NERO 6 so perhaps can try with that, but don't know where to start, THOUGHT that Shrink was the best program to do that. Theres not much that can be done. Quote: P.S I do have NERO 6 so perhaps can try with that, but don't know where to start, THOUGHT that Shrink was the best program to do that. If your just doing a straight copy with no copy protection from one DVD to another, try Nero. Shrink is only necessary for compressing DVD9 to DVD5. __________________ AMD 64 4400+ X2 'Toledo' @ 2.6Ghz DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert 2x 1024Mb DDR OCZ PC4000 Gold 2x Sparkle 7800GTX 256Mb DDR3 in SLI (513/1280) 2x Arctic NV Silencer 5 rev 3 120G Seagate SATA 250G Seagate SATA Benq DW1640 Swiftech Extreme Liquid Cooling Kit 24" Dell LCD Microsoft Vista Ultimate RTM v6 build 6000 04-02-2005 #3 JSD New on Forum Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 6 Re: DVD SHRINK PROBLEM: "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" Try copying DVD to HDD with AnyDVD. Find out what file it isn't copying and copy files before and after that file into a folder and see if you can re-author or even do a full backup of that folder with DVD Shrink. I had one file that wouldn't copy on a backup I was doing and this worked for me. Hope this helps. Jason 04-02-2005 #4 G)-(osters CD Freaks Die Hard Join D
