Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read the file "D:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check). I guess these few DVD's just have some extra security features that jam up the ripping process! Anyone familiar w/ http://www.sega-16.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-12016.html this problem??? Disney movies seem to always do this. At the moment I was trying to http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/DVD-Shrink-Error/id/7929 rip Twilight (which I rented for my girlfriend), and it gave me that same error message. ^ 64k06-03-2010, 04:34 PMTwilight! well thats why it error'd the PC has better taste than your misses. I ALWAYS immediately dvd shrink rip my DVDs and BluRays so that I can play them on the computer and skip the damn commercials. If I want commercials, I'll watch public TV. If you have kids, it's even more imperative that you rip your DVDs and BluRays - the kids WILL destroy any disc you let them play within a few days. One time, I found the damn disc ON THE EFFIN ROOF!!! evildragon06-03-2010, 07:13 PMI usually use DVDFab to get around what DVD dvd shrink encountered Shrink doesn't get.. Then if fab can't do it, there's another utility, but I don't like it and forget the name. It's on my laptop and I can check though. Sparksterz06-03-2010, 07:21 PMIf it had a crc error it's usually the case that the media is bad. In this case I'm guessing it may be scratched? evildragon06-03-2010, 07:25 PMIf it had a crc error it's usually the case that the media is bad. In this case I'm guessing it may be scratched? Normally yes. But I've seen some recent DVD's with improper filesystems, as it shows the DVD as like 90GB in size or something like that, which is impossible. MN12BIRD06-03-2010, 07:56 PMDVD Shrink only has basic (and out dated) DVD decryption built in. Any modern DVD should cause it to halt. You need a separate decrypter like AnyDVD to get around it. AnyDVD will run in the background in between your DVD Drive and software like DVD Shrink. Then as far as DVD Shrink is concerned there is no encryption on the DVD it's ripping. AnyDVD also works with HD-DVD and Bluray and it will not only get rid of any encryption/CRC errors it also gets around region coding and macro-vision. Since it runs in the background it works with pretty much any DVD ripping software. This will solve the issue. Chilly Willy06-03-2010, 08:22 PMWhile AnyDVD works with DVD or HD, they are separate licenses and have separate fe
5:12 PM This is the third topic I've posted in this section in a week, and this is the first week I've ever even gone into this section ... wow ... Well, anyway, I'm trying to rip my DVDs of TAKEN onto my computer to attempt a ridiculously complicated edit that will probably never get done. But the problem is, although Disc 1, 2, 4, and 5 all ripped fine, disc 3 keeps giving me this error when it gets to 50% on the initial analysis:DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.Failed to read file "E:\"Data error (cyclic reduncancy check). That's if I try to do a full disc backup. If I use the Re-Author feature, I get this error when I try to put Title 1 in there:DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.Failed to read file "E:\"Copy Protection Error - The read failed because the sector is encrypted.Burning with NERO is disabled, analysis is not running in low-priority mode, all previews are disabled, and "enable overlapped I/O" is enabled (I tried changing that the first time it didn't work, and it didn't make a difference, so I left it).Any help with this? Quote Report Author MeBeJedi Time 1-May-2007 10:31 PM Two possible scenarios:1: The DVD is scratched2: The copy protection/key on that particular DVD isn't being cracked by DVD Shrink. Do you have AnyDVD? You might want to download the trial and give it a shot.
