Or you could run the movie Through VobBlanker before You put it through Shrink. ripit4me: http://www.ripit4me.org/ VobBlanker: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=580 DVDFab Decrypter: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm Imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/ Shrink: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ Last edited: Nov 20, 2006 Berryone, Nov 20, 2006 #2 SLaTheR Regular member Joined: May 2, 2005 Messages: 114 Likes dvd shrink encountered an error cyclic redundancy check Received: 0 Trophy Points: 26 LOL. "Invalid DVD navigation structure." Is usually a copy protect error. Shrink is a little outdated. You can continue using it (Shrink) perfectly fine if you run AnyDVD in the background. You eventually have to pay for it, but Shrink works fine when you run the two programs together, and a little faster than some of the alternatives listed here. If you don't mind spending a few bucks then AnyDVD is definately the way to go. If you want to stay freeware, the above programs are just fine. SLaTheR, Nov 20, 2006 #3 mzr Guest SLaTheR said: LOL. I haven't been on the forums for a while; a year to be exact. I would like to thank once again (if they're still present) everyone that aided me in my DVD editing woes last year. http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/problems-with-dvd-shrink.503493/ I am working on this year's Film Festival with all of the knowledge that I have gained from the one prior, but I have run into an error that is truly puzzling me: ... I am trying to open a movie in order to remove it's menu because we will not be using the menus for the festival; the directors would like the film to "just play". This is fine, as I am fully aware of how to accomplish this with multiple programs now... the problem http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/310935-Invalid-DVD-Multiple-errors-with-multiple-programs that I am having occurs with one of the movies. I can play it with my computer's video player (I'm using VLC), but when I try and open the DVD in a separate, "editing" program, I am faced with many errors... Upon opening the movie (or trying to at least :P ) in DVD Shrink, it won't even show any .VOB files (or anything for that matter...) and when I try and drag them in manually, it tells me "DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid Filename.) .... After this, I attempted to rip the movie to my computer to see if it would work using DVD Decrypter. When I initially open up the disc, I am faced with a few "cautions" in the log, namely: W 19:48:33 Possible Structure Protection Found! W 19:48:33 1 area has been marked as 'suspect'. W 19:48:33 Dummy sectors will be inserted where necessary. I noted these warnings and proceeded to copy the movie to my computer, but was faced with a few more errors. They are listed here in chronological order: On-the-fly IFO/BUP file patching failed! File Name: VTS_01_0.IFO Size: 28, 672 bytes Reason: PatchIFO failed. ------------------------------------------------------ and then this one... I/O Error! If you did want the whole disc, I'd say use the old 3.0beta since you wouldn't be using any new options anyway. You can specify the location of the dvd shrink encountered ripped files from the commandline. Just do # wine dvdshrink.exe e:\rippeddvddirectory Code: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid filename Path not found Did you change your wine config for the E: drive to get this to work or use default? Is 'rippeddvddirectory' the whole unix path or just everything after the path in your wine config? I've tried just about every combination I can think of as remotely reasonable and it does the same thing. Does this perhaps work with an older version of dvdshrink(I'm using 3.2.0.15) but not the latest? edit: Ok, I got rid of that error message, and I can get dvdshrink to open with a parameter of a directory, but it doesn't do me any good. Nothing is open, and if I do Open Files, all I see is something that says 'Shortcut' and no drives or anything. 3.17 version of dvdshrink was exactly the same._________________The Congress shall have power...To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors an
