Dvd Shrink Error The Parameter Is Incorrect
been many years since i tackled this, so i don' t remember everything. anyway. i recently purchased the WD My Personal Cloud, a 3TB wifi, and i want to start putting at least a small sub-set of my dvd collections onto it, using dvd shrink at 50% (after it analyzes it, i set only the larger .vobs to 50% and the rest i leave alone). i've been testing this process dvd shrink runtime error out since it seems to be the least amount of steps and fastest so far. and i want to see how each ripped video looks on my LG tablet to determine if the quality is satisfactory enough, however, after ripping dvd's, i was issued the following error message and am not sure where the error is since my wdmycloud has 3TB space and i only added 4 dvd's at 50% to it. i am using dvd shrink and set the output to go directly to the 3TB drive over wifi, thus this scenario: laptop -> wifi -> netgear_router -> wdmycloud dvd shrink error message: --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- dvd shrink encountered an error and can not continue Out of memory Not enough storage is available to process this command --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- i tried to look up the remaining size of the folder on the wdmycloud (properties) but for the size is "0" and that can't be true. does anyone have a better clue why i am getting

I'm not sure if it means hard drive or blank disc space. After the encoding the files are on your harddrive and waiting to burn. If you have plenty of hd space, then: Reduce your backup target size in http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-says-not-enough-space-on-my-disk.377220/ dvd shrink: Open up dvd shrink and click the following: Edit Preferences File I/O tab Look for target dvd size. It's probably set to dvd-5.Just click that, scroll till you get to custom. To the right of that enter 4360 and click ok. See if that may get you going. If could be the media quality not allowing you to burn the entire backup disc. This 4360 mb target size is the recommendation on majority of media. If it's cheap, low quality stuff, then you may have to go to 4300 mbs.It also keeps from burning the outer edge of the disc. This may help you out.It couldn't hurt. That is where I keep my backup target settings with 0 issues. saugmon, Aug 2, 2005 #3 creaky Moderator Staff Member Joined: Jan 14, 2005 Messages: 31,683 Likes Received: 1 Trophy Points: 96 yeah, i keep mine at 4300MB, i also have zero issues too creaky, Aug 2, 2005 #4 chica101 Guest Hey! I have plenty of space on my hard drive so I'm not sure why this is suddenly happened. The only possibility I can think of is that I recently updated Nero and after that I got the error. The program worked dvd shrink error fine before that. HELP PLEASE! Sep 19, 2007 #1 Tedster Techspot old timer..... Posts: 6,000 +15 use ripit4me when cracking DVDs (for legal backup purposes only of course.) Shrink will not work in a standalone mode for some copy protection. Sep 19, 2007 #2 jadeo9 TS Rookie Topic Starter Posts: 29 i dont think that is the issue. because i have had no issues with the copyright, only this target space issue. it has nothing to do with copyright Sep 20, 2007 #3 Tedster Techspot old timer..... Posts: 6,000 +15 I would disable nero. Shrink may be trying to burn to your CD/DVD. Force it to look for the hard disc drive by changing the preferences in the target configuration table.
