Dvd Shrink Encountered An Error And Cannot Continue Data Error
Mar 2001 Location : New York i just started ripping my dvd collections. its been many years since i tackled this, so i don' t remember everything. anyway. i recently purchased the WD My Personal Cloud, a 3TB wifi, and i want clone dvd to start putting at least a small sub-set of my dvd collections onto it, using dvd shrink at 50% (after it analyzes it, i set only the larger .vobs to 50% and the rest i leave alone). i've been testing this process out since it seems to be the least amount of steps and fastest so far. and i want to see how each ripped video looks on my LG tablet to determine if the quality is satisfactory enough, however, after ripping dvd's, i was dvd shrink out of memory parameter is incorrect issued the following error message and am not sure where the error is since my wdmycloud has 3TB space and i only added 4 dvd's at 50% to it. i am using dvd shrink and set the output to go directly to the 3TB drive over wifi, thus this scenario: laptop -> wifi -> netgear_router -> wdmycloud dvd shrink error message: --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- dvd shrink encountered an error and can not continue Out of memory Not enough storage is available to process this command --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- i tried to look up the remaining size of the folder on the wdmycloud (properties) but for the size is "0" and that can't be true. does anyone have a better clue why i am getting this and how to resolve ? Trophy Points: 11 I'm getting an error when I try to backup The Forgotten and dvd shrink alternative I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2 ver.3.2.0.15 The error is: Out of Memory Not enough storage is available to process this command. DVD Shrink

encountered an error and cannot continue. I have 512 MB ram and Max of 4095 MB Virtual Memory on my drive. The whole movie is over 7 GB and I can rip it fine to the drive. http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/369116-dvd-shrink-out-of-memory-error I can even backup with DVD Shrink and do the whole movie omitting only languages and subtitles other than English. I get Shrink to make a new directory of Video_TS files to 4.7 GB. However, when I try to just grab the first Title set of the movie, again omitting all languages and subtitles other than English, I get half way and the error "Out of Memory" pops up. The selected total video to backup http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-gets-out-of-memory-error-how-to-fix.337682/ is only 3,510 MB. And my HD's have more than 22 GB free before I start the process. The one thing I did notice was that when backing up the one title, Shrink reports during the backup that my "Buffered:" memory gets as far as 1,687 MB and the error comes up. But when I do the whole Disc it only reports "Buffered:" memory at 64 MB and doesn't seem to go over that from what I've observed, and it does a successful backup with over 7 GB with the same movie. What can I do to get Shrink to lock "Buffered:" memory access to under 1 GB? Or is the some sort of other problem with Out of Memory coming up? Here's what finally did: The Forgotten has 2 versions of the movie on it-the theatrical version and an extended one with an alternate ending. You need to use reauthor mode, I gra

Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine dvd shrink encountered for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In case your HDD is still formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS, DVD Shrink will bypass the 4 GB filesize limit automatically by outputting to multipart ISO (.i00, .i01, .i02, .mds) which mds can be burned
