Does the DVD you are trying to copy play from your drive on computer ? When you start DVD Fab it should open the DVD for you to rip. Do you have another DVD to try to open witrh DVD Fab ? Maybe the disc itself is bad or the drive is not working. Do you know how to do a BluRay disc? In the meantime I am trying another DVD. DVD Shrink Failed to Open Files 11/23/2011 02:09 by SallyPainting First answer posted by lainib at 11/23/2011 02:09 Add Your Answer 10~1000 characters in length CAPTCHA: Post without login 1 Answers lainib Launch the DVD Shrink application. Click the "Open Disc" button if you are attempting to compress directly from a DVD disc, or click the "Open Files" button if you are attempting to compress DVD files. Verify that DVD Shrink was able to complete its initial analysis of the source (your DVD or DVD files) content. If DVD Shrink reported an error, or the analysis process stalled, then there may be copy protection on your DVD or files. Confirm that you are attempting to convert from a DVD source and not a Blu-ray or HD DVD source. DVD Shrink will not work with any format besides the DVD format. Launch a media player, such as Windows Media Player. Select the DVD and attempt to play it. If the media player cannot play the video, then the disc may be damaged and unreadable. You can also watch DVD video files saved on your computer in the media player by opening the "VIDEO_TS" folder and selecting a ".vob" file.
