Dvd Shrink Failed To Read File Cyclic Redundancy Check
someone can clue me in. Let me first start by giving some specs, running DVD Shrink on a vista laptop. This is the first time
Dvd Shrink 3.2 Error
I have ever seen this message and it only happens when I try to write or read files from an external USB3.0 western digital 3TB my book essentials hard drive. I can back up movies to my laptop hard drive,
Dvd Shrink Error Out Of Memory
the secondary internal drive, and even to a different USB2.0 drive also a western digital but only a 1TB. I am left to guess that because the drive is so large, there is some inherent flaw in DVD Shrink that's keeping it from recognizing/writing/reading properly from a 3TB hard drive. I cannot rip a DVD to the USB 3.0 external nor open the files through DVD Shrink directly from that hard drive. The exact same files can be opened and dvd shrink error the parameter is incorrect manipulated as long as they are on a different drive that is not as large. The 3TB drive is formatted NTFS so FAT32 is not an issue. I also run DVD Shrink "as administrator" so that too should not be an issue. The drive is not write-protected and files can be copied and moved with no issues. I can also view the VOB files through Media Player Classic with no issues at all directly from the 3TB drive. The error looks like this when trying to rip to that drive: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to write ....VTS_01_1.VOB The parameter is incorrect. I replaced the file name since it was irrelevant because it fails at about 7% done with the first VOB file. When trying to open a file from the 3TB HD, DVD Shrink fails to read the IFO file despite the fact that the same exact file can be read from a different location. Any thoughts? I can shrink a DVD i purchased to any drive, but NOT the WD 3TB drive. DVD Decryptor works just fine BTW. mate123,

Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but http://www.dvdshrink.org/support.php can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In case your HDD is still formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS, DVD Shrink will bypass the 4 GB filesize limit automatically by outputting to multipart ISO (.i00, .i01, .i02, .mds) which mds can be burned with ImgBurn. Batch encoding/autoplay/command line Aparently DVD Shrink does not support command line parameters except for opening a DVD so if you wanna use it in your media center without a keyboard use autoplay, cmdDVDShrink or DVD Rip. In case you wanna encode several DVDs in a row unattended use MultiShrink. Problems running DVD Shrink on Vista/Win 7 DVD

You can use Shrink on the copied files. James, Jan 31, 2014 #4 Mombojohn Member James said: ↑ Either use CloneDVD2, or use AnyDVD ripper to copy to folder.
