Dvd Shrink Invalid Data In File
Trophy Points: 11 I am trying to backup a DVD movie by Dreamworks. I used invalid dvd structure dvd shrink DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to rip it to my HD. It told me that it might be inserting "dummy sectors" and inserted 2 dvd shrink invalid navigation structure of them. I then used DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 to try and re-author the resulting files (just want the movie) but on selecting the file directory I immediately got the following error: DVD Shrink encountered a error:

invalid data in file vts_08-1.vob What do I do know? Why can't DVD Shrink handle these files. I am a novice at this and have never encountered this problem before. Any suggestions (newbie level) on how to proceed appreciated. Thanks. here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm It's updated regularly and should handle the newer encryptions. Another alternative is to use AnyDVD. While not free, works good with new encryptions and runs in the background, which will allow you to use DVD Shrink for all your needs, if you wish. Find it here: http://www.slysoft.com Comes with a 21 day free trial before you buy. Lastly, try RipIt4Me. Up until lately (today) would give worry free backups using FixVTS, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink and is totally free. Just a note though, today the website is down and there is fear that it may have been shut down. It was regularly updated and handled every encryption thrown at it. It may be worth a try if you can find it to download it, should it get back up and running. Edit: You can find RI4M here: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/RipIt4Me-Download-44816.html Last edited: Mar 31, 2007 FFsp42, Mar 31, 2007 #2 johnl123 Regular member Joined: Nov 3, 2005 Messages: 2,421 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 46 DVD Shrink encountered a error: invalid data in file vts_08-1.vob Click to expand... This maybe an indication that the files ripped by DVD decrypter are not DVD-Compliant, to try and correct this simply process the files you have on your hard drive thru FixVTS, it's designed to correct non

Dvd Shrink Error Out Of Memory
Works Situation: Trying to backup DVDs (such as Madagascar, Flightplan, Man of the House, Sky High, etc.) that use ARccOS/Ripguard protections. There are many other dvd shrink error failed to read file DVDs that fall under this situation. Goal: To make a 1:1 backup of the orriginal (i.e. a double layer to double layer copy) Error Message using "File Mode": We have all seen this error message (see below): Embedded Images View/download images http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-encountered-a-error-invalid-data.541958/ and remove advertisements by registering now! (it's easy, free and takes less than a minute) You must be registered in order view images in this forum. This error happens when I use DVD Decryper and DVD Shrink. I first rip the DVD files to my hard drive using DVD Decryper "File mode." Then, I get this error message when opening up VIDEO_TS folder with DVD Shrink. I know this error is a result of copy protections that DVD Decrypter cannot handle. (Keep reading http://club.myce.com/f62/invalid-data-file-video_ts-vts_01_1-vob-yet-1-1-dl-backup-still-works-173846/ below... I am not looking for an explaination of what causes this error.) NO Error Message (kind of) using "ISO Read": This is the part that is confusing me... I always use DVD Decrypter's "ISO Read" and ImgBurn's "ISO Write" to make a backup of a DL disc. When I use this combo, I get a backup that works in both my computer DVD players and my standalone player. (ImgBurn sucessfully creates the backup.) But how is this happening??? As stated above, I get the "Invalid Data in File" error message when opening the VIDEO_TS folder in DVD Shrink. So it makes no sense that DVD Decrypter can rip an "ISO image" to the hard drive that ImgBurn is able to create a backup that actually works. Clearly, DVD Decryper is not removing the protection even though I'm using the "ISO Read" mode. Is my DVD burner actually burning the structural errors to the blank DVD? The only other explaination that I am able to find is DVD players ignore the .VOB file. This would explain why a backup DVD would still play. (I have no idea if this is true or not.) What is going on here? Do I make any sense? I have tried to describe the situation with as much detail as possible. __________________ Drive #1 Information: Sony DRU-700A Firmware Version: VY08 Drive #2 Information: HP DVD640i (with Lightscribe support) Firmware Version: ES04 25-03-2006 #2 TimC MyCE Resident Join Dat
dvd on the pc so I can then put it on my ipad. I scanned the dvd using anydvd and then used the trial version of clonedvd to put a copy on my hard drive. When I https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/error-invalid-data-in-file.53446/ used DVDshrink to shrink the file it said it error invalid data in file. Did i do something wrong? When using clonedvd is automatically selected the DVD option, should I ahve used Movie File? What is the difference? I do not intend to burn the movies on to a disk, just to get files to put on my ipad. Any help appreciated as I have never done this before. Thanks dinky73, Jun 20, 2012 #1 Frank SlySoft Support Team Use dvd shrink CloneDVD mobile You can use CloneDVD mobile and convert the DVD to an M4V file for loading onto that device with iTunes. There is no need to compress the VIDEO_TS content for use on a mobile device. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you about shrink other than to say that the "invalid" thing it is showing you is an old error in that product. Typically, if you want to work with shrink you will need to use the "rip dvd shrink invalid video DVD to hard disc..." option on the right mouse click menu on the AnyDVD tray fox icon and then burn/process from the Hard Drive and NOT the DVD. The size of the file is big though 1.57GB, is that about right for a movie? Is there any way to compress the size of the files so they take up less room on the pc & ipad? thanks for your help. dinky73, Jun 21, 2012 #3 Frank SlySoft Support Team File size No, it is not possible to compress mobile formats like that, but you can maybe use the "Video quality" slider to reduce the end size without sacrificing too much on quality (which may not be so easily seen on a mobile device) Frank, Jun 21, 2012 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
