Dvd Shrink Cyclic Redundancy Check Error Fix
Member Join Date : Jun 2006 Location : Canada Hi, I am trying to burn a DVD backup with DVD Shrink but it gives the message: "DVDShrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid data in VTS_01_4.VOB" Before trying to burn I created IFO files with IfoEdit. What does this mean? How can I fix it? Thank you! Read my blog here. Quote 15th Aug 200622:50 #3 vertical View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date : Jun 2006 Location : Canada Thank you! It worked. Your advice as usually is right to the point. Actually I tried this software a couple of times before and it never helped but this time worked like a charm. very small, free but incredibly powerful utility called “fix VTS” to automatically correct internal errors on a DVD. These errors may cause any number of error messages to appear, all of which are quite meaningless. You may get “invalid DVD navigation,” “disc error,” invalid DVD

menu structure,” invalid DVD file structure” or a host of others. If you are getting the bad cd/dvd recovery “No Disc” error then it is more likely you have a DVD finalization problem in which case you may be better off going back all video fixer to the home page of this site and going through the topics there. Generally speaking the type of DVD error that Fix VTS will handle will be as a result of the reference files in the DVD (the IFO and http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/247578-How-to-fix-invalid-data-in-VOB-file BUP files), pointing to parts of the video files (VOB files) that are either in the wrong place or do not exist. This can also cause jumpy or stuttering playback of the DVD or complete freezes while the player is desperately searching around for things that either don’t exist or have been marked as being in the wrong place. Preparation The first step in the process is to click here and download Fix VTS. It is a stand alone utility so http://diyvideoeditor.com/fix-vts-tutorial/ there is no need to do any installation step. Just save it to a place on you computer and when you are ready double click the icon and Fix VTS will open. Before getting started it is a good idea to create the working folder for the program first. How and where you do this depends on your computer set-up but for the purposes of this demonstration I created a folder on my C drive called “test” as you can see below. I will be importing/copying an entire DVD to be corrected into this folder. Place the problem DVD into the DVD tray of your computer and select to “Open” the disc. Depending on where the DVD came from you will now have a window open that shows the VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD. Some DVDs may also have an AUDIO_TS folder as well but in 99% of cases there will be nothing in the folder. If you do see an AUDIO_TS folder, open it to check it is empty. Simply click and drag the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD across to the folder you created earlier. In this picture you can see I have dragged the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to the “Test” folder I created earlier. Once the copying process is complete you will have a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive. If you open that it will look as below. Navigate to where you do
FREE software, aka Freeware. You won't be charged for it, ever. But please consider making a donation if DVDShrink helped you in any way! DVDShrinkSupport: Common Issues Before you download! Click here to optimize your system performance and have it ready for DVD Shrink! Decryption problems/new copy protections Since http://www.dvdshrink.org/support.php development of DVD Shrink has been stopped in 2005 it cannot circumvent current copy protections https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/error-invalid-data-in-file.53446/ schemes which may manifest in these errors/error messages: Movie playback starts in between or at the end and/or chapters do not playback in order Invalid File Structure Invalid Navigation Structure Out of memory Programming error - Exception occurred Parameter Incorrect Data Redundancy Check Error (CRC Error) The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error To remove such protections dvd shrink do a complete backup of such media to your HDD with (use Google): DVDFab HD Decrypter (free trial) AnyDVD (free trial) and then use Shrink to encode it as usual. Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware dvd shrink invalid but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In case your HDD is still formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS, DVD Shrink will bypass the 4 GB filesize limit automatically by outputting to multipart ISO (.i00, .i01, .i02, .mds) which mds can be burned with ImgBurn. Batch encoding/autoplay/command line Aparently DVD Shrink does not support command line parameters except for opening a DVD so if you wanna use it in your media center without a keyboard use autoplay, cmdDVDShrink or DVD Rip. In case you wanna encode several DVDs in a row unattended use MultiShrink. Problems running DVD Shrink on Vista
dvd on the pc so I can then put it on my ipad. I scanned the dvd using anydvd and then used the trial version of clonedvd to put a copy on my hard drive. When I used DVDshrink to shrink the file it said it error invalid data in file. Did i do something wrong? When using clonedvd is automatically selected the DVD option, should I ahve used Movie File? What is the difference? I do not intend to burn the movies on to a disk, just to get files to put on my ipad. Any help appreciated as I have never done this before. Thanks dinky73, Jun 20, 2012 #1 Frank SlySoft Support Team Use CloneDVD mobile You can use CloneDVD mobile and convert the DVD to an M4V file for loading onto that device with iTunes. There is no need to compress the VIDEO_TS content for use on a mobile device. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you about shrink other than to say that the "invalid" thing it is showing you is an old error in that product. Typically, if you want to work with shrink you will need to use the "rip video DVD to hard disc..." option on the right mouse click menu on the AnyDVD tray fox icon and then burn/process from the Hard Drive and NOT the DVD. The size of the file is big though 1.57GB, is that about right for a movie? Is there any way to compress the size of the files so they take up less room on the pc & ipad? thanks for your help. dinky73, Jun 21, 2012 #3 Frank SlySoft Support Team File size No, it is not possible to compress mobile formats like that, but you can maybe use the "Video quality" slider to reduce the end size without sacrificing too much on quality (which may not be so easily seen on a mobile device) Frank, Jun 21, 2012 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
