3TB wifi, and i want to start putting at least a small sub-set of my dvd collections onto it, using dvd shrink at 50% (after it analyzes it, i set only the larger .vobs to 50% and the rest i leave alone). i've been testing this process out since it seems to be the least amount of steps and fastest so far. and i want to see how each ripped video looks on my LG tablet to determine if the quality is dvd shrink error out of memory the parameter is incorrect satisfactory enough, however, after ripping dvd's, i was issued the following error message and am not sure where the error is since my wdmycloud has 3TB space and i only added 4 dvd's at 50% to it. i am using dvd shrink and set the output to go directly to the 3TB drive over wifi, thus this scenario: laptop -> wifi -> netgear_router -> wdmycloud dvd shrink error message: --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- dvd shrink encountered an error and can not continue Out of memory Not enough storage is available to process this command --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- --- // --- i tried to look up the remaining size of the folder on the wdmycloud (properties) but for the size is "0" and that can't be true. does anyone have a better clue why i am getting this and how to resolve ? Dvd Shrink gets Out Of Memory error, how to fix? Discussion in 'DVD Shrink forum' started by TooMe, Jan 27, 2005. TooMe Member Joined: Jan 27, 2005 Messages: 2 Likes dvd decrypter Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 I'm getting an error when I try to backup any dvd The Forgotten and I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2 ver.3.2.0.15 The error is: Out of Memory Not enough storage is available to process dvd shrink out of memory windows 8 this command. DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. I have 512 MB ram and Max of 4095 MB Virtual Memory on my drive. The whole movie is over 7 GB and I can rip it http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/369116-dvd-shrink-out-of-memory-error fine to the drive. I can even backup with DVD Shrink and do the whole movie omitting only languages and subtitles other than English. I get Shrink to make a new directory of Video_TS files to 4.7 GB. However, when I try to just grab the first Title set of the movie, again omitting all languages and subtitles other than English, I get half way and the error "Out of Memory" pops up. http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-gets-out-of-memory-error-how-to-fix.337682/ The selected total video to backup is only 3,510 MB. And my HD's have more than 22 GB free before I start the process. The one thing I did notice was that when backing up the one title, Shrink reports during the backup that my "Buffered:" memory gets as far as 1,687 MB and the error comes up. But when I do the whole Disc it only reports "Buffered:" memory at 64 MB and doesn't seem to go over that from what I've observed, and it does a successful backup with over 7 GB with the same movie. What can I do to get Shrink to lock "Buffered:" memory access to under 1 GB? Or is the some sort of other problem with Out of Memory coming up? I take it you are trying to decrypt this movie with DVDShrink? There are a lot of hits on Google that show this error when trying to decrypt dvd shrink newer movies. You must know that Shrink is hopelessly outdated as a decryption program and will only work with those movies that have simple CSS protection. Granted, there are a lot of movies with nothing more, but any advanced protection will stop DVDShrink. Decrypt to the hard drive with DVDFab HD Decrypter, or BDlot ISO Master. Either are free to use. Then compress with Shrink if you want. BDlot rips to an ISO, but you can open ISO's with Shrink directly by clicking Ctrl I. If you out of memory are working with a new release, with a very new encryption scheme, you may have to use one of the commercial programs. __________________ Guide for BD Rebuilder BD Rebuilder Guide for MP4 or MKV conversion AVStoDVD Guide 03-10-2011 #3 durkinjt MyCE Resident Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Red Bank, NJ Posts: 1,250 Quote: Originally Posted by Kerry56 I take it you are trying to decrypt this movie with DVDShrink? Thanks for the reply. it was a mistake by me of using a Blu-Ray to Dvd file from DVD-Fab improperly. 03-10-2011 #4 Gummigutta MyCE Resident Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Sweden Posts: 642 Re: Dvd Shrink out of memory? When I open the files, I get an error message stating: "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Out of memory. Not enough storage available to process this command." I used DVD Shrink a couple of times and this is the first time I ever encountered this error. My system has 2GB of RAM and my 146GB harddrive still has 56.6GB of space left. I also don't have any other applications on. I even used FixVTS and I still can't get it fixed.Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Re: DVD Shrink 3.2: Getting "Out of Memory" Error « Reply #1 on: March 01, 2007, 10:55:53 PM » Is your big hard drive a "D:" drive? If so, it's possible that, at some point, the place the program stores temp files might have gotten switched to "C:" drive (I know my C drive wouldn't have the space). Also, if the "out of memory" message is referring to RAM, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to see what processes are running. In this same vein, when was the last time you scanned for adware and malware? Logged "All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical.
