could not be performed because of an I/O device error To remove such protections do a complete backup of such media to your HDD with (use Google): DVDFab HD Decrypter (free trial) AnyDVD (free trial) and then use Shrink to encode it as usual. Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having dvd shrink 3.2 has stopped working said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In case your HDD is still formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS, DVD Shrink will bypass the 4 GB filesize limit automatically by outputting to multipart ISO (.i00, .i01, .i02, .mds) which mds can be burned with ImgBurn. Batch encoding/autoplay/command line Aparently DVD Shrink does not support command line parameters except

2006, 04:18I keep getting this error "Programming error - exception occurred" during the Deep Analysis part of DVDShrink (latest version). I read this FAQ ( http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?threadid=48842 ) thought it might be ARccOS, or sme other copy protection http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-113805.html scheme. So I tried using the following programs to rip the DVD's to hard drives and then load them up in DVD Shrink using "open files" -DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 -RipIt4Me ver 1.2.0.0 -DVDFab Decrypter They all resulted in the same error, "Programming error - exception occurred", duirng Deep Analysis at the same spot. The DVD is in great condition, no scratches or marks of any kind on it. And the DVD plays fine. This dvd shrink DVD is an old international film so its not on any of the lists of "uncopyable" DVDs. Can someone please help? EDIT: I will try RipIt4Me again, I dont think it completed successfully since it stopped after ripping using DVD Decrypter setarip_old21st July 2006, 07:51Hi!RipIt4Me ver 1.2.0.0You are using an outdated version. Go to ripit4me.org to obtain the latest version. What is the Title and Region of the DVD? encore209721st July 2006, 16:32I got the new dvd shrink alternative version, it completed successfully. Running it through DVDShrink now. The DVD is MISSAMMA and it seems to be region free. EDIT: Same error in DVD Shrink, same spot too, "Programming error - exception occurred", before it was at 99% now its at 100% so I guess its the same. EDIT^2: Tried Nero Recode on the DVD and it gave me an error as well. aaron1021st July 2006, 18:23Have you tried playing it from the hard disk to see if chokes at any point during playback? It would be interesting to see if the probem is in the source or something that only shows up in the transcoding (Shrink and Recode being much the same in their handling of DVD structure). If it plays okay, you might try the free version of DVD Rebuilder along with the included free transcoder, Rejig, to see if it is able to handle the material. encore209721st July 2006, 22:38The DVD plays fine. I will try using DVD Rebuilder (freeware) version. I am attempting to use the OneClick method. hope it works =) aaron1022nd July 2006, 00:05I just want to make sure you're tracking me. We want to make sure the ripped material on your hard drive is playing fine, not that the DVD itself plays fine on your PC. Best of luck. Hope it works. encore209722nd July 2006, 05:17Gotcha. I w
