Disc have copy protection: experiment with the software available for those situations. You can also try the trial version of AnyDVD to work in the background and then use Shrink. Guides are available in my sig by Scuba Pete and bbmayo they will give you lots of information. arniebear, May 17, 2005 #3 webhedreg Guest Going over what has already been said. If the disk is dirty and cleaning allows you to copy disk successfully then fine problem solved. If not and then by using Decrypter you can copy disk okay, then at least you'll know it is the CSS stopping Shrink doing the copying. Use the latest version of Decrypter, Shrink will copy most not all films, and will struggle more as time goes on, as there is unlikely to be any more updates, as the writer is now working for Nero. You can also try DVD Region + CSS free to work along side Shrink. webhedreg, May 17, 2005 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Problems with http://www.dvdshrink.org/support.php Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In cas

The process has recently taken a turn for the worse however, and I've only been successful on 1 out of my past 8 burns or so, losing the disc in the process. The process gets to 100% complete and then I get an I/O error. My DVD drive then stops working, and I have to restart the computer for it to be found again. The image file I tried to burn today is one that I have successfully burned before. I noticed that the Cache drops to 0% before this error occurs, and hovers around 97% during the burn process, not sure if this is normal. I've tried using laser lens cleaners (discs with brushes), and I've also made sure that I have the latest drive firmware. Here's the log, any ideas? (I is the Info blue circle and W is the exclamation error warning). The log is also attached ( ImgBurn_IO error log.log 8.43KB 156 downloads). I 12:01:27 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started!
