Eventually, Microsoft may create a fix for it and put it in an update. What exactly https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/threads/13754/error-message-every-time-i-close-my-internet-explorer-window does the error say? Hey, I have the same problem!! Everytime I close it IE, that damn error pops up! In event Viewer I notice there are 2 error creating each crash. They are labeled as: "Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x01d7217d." And the second: "Fault bucket 131829237." I would be gratefull of any help!! Thanks!!!! 0 DMR 152 11 Years Ago Hi marcusw90, First of all- welcome to TechTalk! We ask that members not tag their questions on to a thread previously started by another member (regardless of how similar your problem might seem). Not only does it divert the focus of the thread away from the original poster's problem, but it also makes it less likely that you yourself will get the individual attention that you need. Please start your own thread and post your question there. When you do, please try to give us as much specific info as possible regarding the problem (exact error messages, system specs, etc.). with add-ons disabled, I've tried resetting all IE settings. It happened on IE10 and still https://discuss.howtogeek.com/t/solved-ie-has-stopped-working-every-time-i-close-it/992 happens after reverting to 9. I'm on Windows 7 at work and, unfortunately, can't use a superior browser. Doing a little bit of research on some forum threads indicates that you need to either disable hardware accelerated rendering in Internet Explorer 9, or disable stereoscopic 3D in the NVidia drivers. I'm guessing that in your instance, it's definitely something to do with hardware acceleration. You can quickly disable here to test: robotsneedhugs2 2013-04-12 12:55:16 UTC #4 Disabling hardware rendering did it. 3D was already disabled. Thank you. Is there a way to mark this as solved? Or is that unnecessary? geek 2013-04-12 13:00:18 UTC #5 Glad we could help Basically we've been just editing the titles to say solved, as there's not a built in feature for that. Bacchus_Plateau 2013-05-14 20:41:04 UTC #6 Thanks so much!!! The disabling hardware rendering fixed me, too. This was SUPER annoying and like the OP said, I am tied to IE because of internal applications. Guide to Using Google Chromewindows-10-fast Home > How do I fix the Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working error? How do I fix the Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working error? Posted on September 10, 2013 by vonnie — 72 Comments ↓ I generally feel nothing but antipathy toward Internet Explorer so when it freezes and displays that stupid little "Internet Explorer has stopped working" error it vexes me like nothing else. I find the "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…" sub-message obnoxious and sardonic. Why? Because we all know Windows isn't checking for anything; that's just a message Microsoft's coders threw in to make you think Windows is actually doing something for you. In most cases, it's just a waste of time. I usually impetuously click Cancel before Microsoft devises it's false plan of redemption. If your browser is feeling indolent but doesn't completely freeze up, you might want to see the article I wrote about speeding up Internet Explorer; however, if IE keeps crashing on you with these silly stopped working messages then read on for the fix. Breathe The number one thing to do is stay cool, stay composed, maintain equanimity. Don't throw a temper tantrum or brandish your laptop like a weapon or threaten to chuck it out the window instead… relax, take a breath and tell yourself: I can fix this, I've got this. Let's go. After you've done that, you're heart rate should return to it's resting state. Now you're ready to tackle this problem. Help! I broke Internet Explorer! 1. If Internet Explorer is still holding on for dear life, completely kill the process so you can ensure it's totally closed. You can press Shift + Control + Esc to launch the task manager then find, iexplore.exe and click the End Task button. 2. Now that you've kicked the Internet Explorer process into oblivion, click Start and type: internet options Depending on your geek factor the Internet Properties window is somewhere between obscure and familiar. 3. Click the last tab along the top row called Advanced and click the Reset… button near the bottom of the window. A dialog box zips on the screen with a bold font warning that's scary enough to send most computer neophytes running for the nearest Geek Squad But let's think about this: what are we really about to do? Yes, resetting Internet Explorer will revert IE to its embryonic state. IE will become an amnesiac and will basically function the way it did the first time you used it. But this is good because the reset will expunge all your privacy and browser settings. Your browser will feel lighter, happier and won't moan about shuttin
