Note: Alternatively, installing the Microsoft Access 2013 Runtime driver should also resolve this issue. Option 2: Re-register the Microsoft Jet data engine Step 1 On the computer running Tableau Desktop, click the Windows Start button. Step 2 In the search box, type Command Prompt, and in the list of results, click Command Prompt. Step 3 Type the following command: regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\system32\msjtes40.dll. When the command is complete, a message appears to indicate the success of the operation. Step 4 Restart the computer, open Tableau Desktop, and then perform the action that previously caused the Jet database error. Step 6 If the error persists, open the command prompt again, and run the following commands: regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\system32\msjetoledb40.dll
