I've tried installing service release 1 to see it it would fix the issue without success. The large solution has no database projects included (I'm using this add-on for engine error a different project). I've waited for over an hour to see if VS ever recovers, which it does not (the RAM and CPU usage of the process make it look like it is trying to do something...they fluctuate). It normally hangs while loading the symbols when attaching the debugger to the w3wp.exe process; although I've had it hang while loading the solution and at other times (when debugging it doesn't seem engine error 7a06491a to hang while loading any specific assembly). It seems to work well with small solutions though. After uninstalling it, all symptoms disappear and everything works as expected. After it fails, I get a couple errors in the event log (most likely because I killed the process, it won't close in other ways): Application event Source: .Net Runtime: Type: Error Event ID: 1023 Description: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.1433 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A06491A) (0) System event Source: W3SVC Event ID: 1011 Description: A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the World Wide Web Publishing Service.
