Thread Tools Display Modes 06-24-2010, 12:02 AM #1 LumiusX Guest Posts: n/a Can't run the game any more - "no permissions" Since the update, any time I run Counter-Strike: Source, it will immediately close and give an Engine Error message saying that I have "no permissions to run cstrike". While it was updating, it also gave me some flak about the Cloud files not being in sync, and I chose the option "Download from steam". Now, even after I deleted the game and re-installed it, it still says something about Cloud files, doesn't tell me how to fix it, and gives me the option to Play the Game anyway or Cancel.. and it still gives me the Engine Error. This fatal glitch has also pulled Garry's Mod down with it, since Counter-Strike was the only Source game I owned How do I fix this? Am I out thirty bucks? 06-24-2010, 05:23 AM #2 dEeP-fRiEd Guest Posts: n/a I got the same problem. After launching the loading screen shortly appears and after that it crashes with "Engine Error No permissions to run 'cstrike'". Also it seems I can't play any of my source engine games right now: Tried launching TF2 and Episode 1, they both crash on the laoding screen, but I don't get any error dialog o_O Help, please! PS: I am using Windows 7 and before the Mac Updates everything ran smoothly!
