1075: Security Center Discussion in 'Software' started by SofiaAgapao, Dec 25, 2008. SofiaAgapao Private E-2 ARGH!! It http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/error-1075-security-center.177685/ seems like very time I blink, there's something new wrong with this stupid laptop. :cry First off, I'm running Windows XP. I'm not sure what other info y'all will https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topic/105800-help-recovering-from-smitfraud-cgeneric-and-rootkitbootpiharb/ need from me. I am trying to share my iTunes library with other computers on my network. My library title shows up on iTunes on the other computers, error 1075 but when I click on it, I get this error: The shared library "Insert Witty Title Here" is not responding. (-3259) Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689. I decided to try disabling my firewall to see if that made a difference, and mcafee firewall error realized that I'm not even sure which one I have running. So I went to the Windows Security Center and got this error: The Security Center is currently unavailable because the "Security Center" service has not started or was stopped. Please close this window, restart the computer (or start the "Security Center" service), and then open the Security Center again. So I went to services.msc and tried to start the Security Center service, and got yet another error message: Could not start the Security Center service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. One last thing: I'm also trying to allow simple file sharing. When I go to My Network Places, I can see the shared folders that are on the network, including my own. However, my files and folder and inaccessible and invisible from the other computers on the network. A scan with Spybot Search and Destroy this week found Smitfraud-c.generic, and a scan with TDSSKiller found Rootkit.Boot.Pihar.b. Both were supposedly removed by those programs. However, I'm also running Mcafee - which failed to find that malware. Now, Mcafee's firewall will not stay activated. When I try to start the service, I get a msg that says: error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. Now I don't know if my system has been fully cleaned. Here are the DDS logs. I also have a HijackThis log and TDSS logs if necessary.
