Here's the fix that worked for me: Please do the following: 1. Make sure that Acronis Scheduler 2 Service (Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup type is set to Automatic in Properties. If it is not so, make it so. 2. If the above does not help, run the schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe manually in Windows Task Manager (File -> New Task) or do the following: - Download and unpack this archive; - Please run schedmgr.exe application; - Issue following commands: service stop service uninstall - Close schedmgr; - Please replace schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe files in the C:\Program Files\

Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I've got some servers in their own VLAN that I should be able to access from another VLAN. When I try to manage the services from, let's say, VLAN-A to VLAN-B using the MMC with the Services Snap-in I get the following error: Windows was unable to open service control manager database on VLAN-B_Server1. Error error 1722 1722: The RPC Server is unavailable. When I try to to do the same thing from a server in VLAN-B, Ex: VLAN-B_Server2 to VLAN-B_Server1, I don't have this error and it all looks fine; thus, no problems with the RPC server, apparently. I can even manage services from VLAN-B_Server1 on VLAN-A_Server1 without issues; so, VLAN-A/B to VLAN-B/A routing seems to be fine as I can access other services such as the error 1722 the DB and Web between the two. Seems to me it's something to do with the VLANs but why can I manage services from VLAN-A from VLAN-B? There shouldn't be anything blocking that since these VLANs are just to separate broadcast domains. They are really only just separated by one Router and a Switch and I can ping on VLAN-B from VLAN-A so ... what am I missing here? .... OK Mind blown! As I was typing the above I just attempted to connect from VLAN-A_Server1 to VLAN-B_Server2 BUT I used the IP of VLAN-B_Server2 and it WORKED!!!! ... WTF(udge)! I did an 'nslookup' on VLAN-A_Server1 for VLAN-B_server2 and it returned the correct information with the DNS IP and then the correct server FQDN and IP. I attempted to use the FQDN of the server and it gave the same error. Would that mean that there is some kind of NetBIOS and/or DNS strangeness going on here? I just can't wrap my head around the fact that it resolves perfectly to the correct IP BUT then won't work with the FQDN BUT then work with the IP; THEN it also works from from the reverse side no matter how I put int he server name/FQDN/IP. MADNESS!!!! ... or is
