It doesn't matter if I try this while remoted into DC1 or DC2. http://serverfault.com/questions/207000/the-rpc-server-is-unavailable-when-replicating-domain-controllers According to this technet article, this is a problem with a machine being down. However, I can additionally have both domain controllers ping one another just fine so there is no DNS issue nor any connectivity issue. Both are on the same LAN and even on the same subnet, so no VPN/wifi/firewall/quirky issues like that should be a problem. Additionally, I verified that the RPC service is running on both boxes. What could the problem be and how would I fix it? dcdiag results: Directory Server Diagnosis Performing initial setup: Trying to find home server... Home Server = EGDC1 * Identified AD Forest. When running "dcdiag" on 2 of our 3 Domain controllers we get the attached errors. When running "dcdiag" on the server triggering the errors (DOMAIN-DC2) everything is ok. DOMAIN-DC1 and DOMAIN-DC2 are both Windows 1722 the rpc 2012 R2 Standard Domain Controllers. I have no antivirus software installed that could be causing the problem. Any help greatly appreciated! errors then repadmin /replsum works fine. I have forest level 2008 R2 with Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 2012 core and Windows 2012 R2 servers running as DCs in five different locations and different subnets. March 16th, 2015 9:44pm I would recommend that you start with that especially the IP setting recommendations: http://www.ahmedmalek.com/web/fr/articles.asp?artid=23 I also recommend that you dcdiag to check that your DCs are in healthy state. RPC error 1722 / 0x6ba / RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE is logged when a lower layer protocol reports a connectivity failure. The common case is that the abstract TCP CONNECT operation failed. In the context of AD replication, the RPC client on the destination DC was not able to successfully connect to the RPC server on the source DC.
