version: link Extract the MSI from the “jre-8u25-windows-i586.exe” or “jre-8u25-windows-x64.exe” by starting the installation. When the first screen appears, you will find the extracted MSI file (jre1.8.0_25.msi) in the folder“%LOCALAPPDATA%Low\Sun\Java\jre1.8.0_25”or “%LOCALAPPDATA%Low\Sun\Java\jre1.8.0_25_x64” if extracting the x64 Java https://www.java.com/en/download/help/error_1722.xml Runtime. Copy the MSI to another folder like C:\data Cancel the Java setup. Open the MSI with ORCA or an MSI Editing tool and create a MST File and change the following settings: Open the table “CustomAction” and select the row “installexe”. Change the value in the field “Type” to 3074 (or Hex 0x0C02). This will set the NoImpersonate bit. My additional PROPERTIES in the MST file are the following: AUTO_UPDATE=0AUTOUPDATECHECK=0JU=0JAVAUPDATE=0EULA=0SPONSORS=0WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=HWEB_ANALYTICS=0 I know, https://sccmfaq.wordpress.com/2014/12/20/deploy-java-8-update-25-error-1722/ not all Update Fields are needed, but like this I am sure, that Java is not updating automatically . SAVE the MST File Unfortunately this is not enough. Now you’ll have another error: “Unable to install Java. Unable to open file C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\java.settings.cfg” To solve this, you’ve to create the missing file BEFORE running the installation. You can add this to the MST File or copy it before running the main installation with a batch file or similar. Create a blank file named “java.settings.cfg” and copy it to “%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Oracle\Java”. The file can stay blank, because our install options are in the MSI / MST File. Good luck and hope it will work also in your environment! cuChris Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading... Unfortunately, their fix didn't fix my problem. The solution? Make sure there aren't any previous installs of Java on the error 1722 windows box. I found four of them on this particular one. After uninstalling all of them (through the Windows control panel), I was able to do a clean install of Java and run jEdit (which was the whole point). I post this here for any other souls who might run into this problem while installing Java on Windows. 03/05/2015 Software Deployment Dell KACE K2000 Deployment Appliance KACE Product Support K1000 Managed Installations (MI) Oracle JAVA Hi guys,Have had no problems uninstalling old Java and installing new Java until version 8.As 7 is going EoL, I have to roll out Java 8 to 300 Windows 7 workstations via our K1000.Currently using a batch file that calls wmic to uninstall any previous versions of java, and then runs the 32-bit offline installer with custom configs (see below).wmic product where "name like 'Java%%'" call uninstall"jre-8u40-windows-i586.exe" INSTALL_SILENT=1 STATIC=0 AUTO_UPDATE=0 WEB_JAVA=1 WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=H WEB_ANALYTICS=0 EULA=0 REBOOT=0 NOSTARTMENU=0 SPONSORS=0The uninstall process still works fine, however the .exe install seems to fail. I can see the process run for a split second on my target machine, but then nothing else. When I run it locally (just double-clicking the batch file and approving the UAC prompt), it installs fine. Is there an issue with the latest Java installing under the SYSTEM account (which I assume the K1000 uses to install)?I've tried extracting and using the MSI but I get "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package."Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Tim Answer Summary: TextSave summary Cancel 2 Comments [ + ] Show Comments Comments oliphanj 1 year ago See this blog. http://dptechjournal.blogspot.com/2015/04/deploy-java-18-with-msi-enterprise.html innovateus 1 year ago last edited 1 year ago I have similar situation with java 1.8 update 40 , I am using executable and i could able to install manually but when i try to install through SCCM i have issues especially on 64 bit windows 7 machines , It will not install through SCCM and i am using below switches. please let me know if there is a workaround for this. /s /L "C:\Windows\Temp\Java1.8.45.log" REBOOT=0 WEB_ANALYTICS=0 AUTO_UPDATE=0 NOSTARTMENU=1 SPONSORS=0 WEB_JAVA=1 I also tried with out out log and also tried to copy java.settings.cfg under C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\ but no luck.
