Often installations include DLLs for applications that are not loaded. If the DLL can't find an entry point it will not register. Why this is happening These issues can be caused by an incorrect file setting or a damaged file. If multiple errors are displayed and they specifically mention the ICWrapper.dll, qbprefs.dll, and qbupdate.exe (among others), then the problem is probably caused by a damaged component error 1904 of Microsoft Visual C++. This error can also occur if you are installing QuickBooks after upgrading your operating system (such as from Windows Vista to Windows 7) and your computer was not rebooted after the upgrade. How to fix it Unless you have one of the special cases shown below, you will need to run the QBInstall tool: Click the Ignore button on the error message and allow the installation to failed to register complete. Do not open QuickBooks. Restart your computer. If the installation did not complete, then download and run the QBInstall Tool.
