the Wireless connection started showing "LIMITED CONNECTIVITY", though, it can see all the wifi networks available in the area. Other computers and wifi enabled devices can all connect easily to the same network. I've tried the following solutions(from the forums) already: -re-installing drivers, disabling-enabling network adapters -made sure the passwords are correct -disabling firewalls -turning on-off (5mins) the router +PC -removing and reloading the network -scanned software/hardware for problems thru built in "vaio care" (indicated that everything base filtering engine error 5 access denied is running normally) I also tried to run the Network Diagnostics but this error msg always appear= "The Diagnostics Policy Service is not running."- even if i run it as an administrator.. Checked the Local Services and found out that DHCP Client is not running- Tried starting it several times but it won't start and this error msg always appear "Windows could not start the DHCP CLient service on local Comp. Error 5: Access is denied." I'd appreciate any help/assistance/idea from anyone. Been trying to sort this one out for 4 days now, and still found no solution. Thanks for taking time in reading this. First thing I noticed was that it wouldn't make a network connection. Right clicked on the network icon in the Taskbar and selected Diagnose and Repair. Got a message that Network Diagnostics cannot run because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not error 5 access running. Opened Service Control Manager to try and start that service, and got a message that Windows could not start the service on Local Computer, followed by Error 5: Access is denied. A Full Scan with Malwarebytes and MS Security Essentials found nothing. From an F8 start, System Repair did not help, and every System Restore point I tried failed, as far back as they went. There's a Windows Update icon showing in the Taskbar, but when I try to open that, it shows Windows Update has never been run (and can't run now, of course, because networking is munged up). Computer Properties says SP2 is installed. Any suggestions? I recently found myself unable to connect to the internet. In addition, the Windows Firewall was turned off at some point. I cannot get either the DHCP Client or Windows Firewall services to start. If I try to manually start the services, I receive the error: "Windows could not start the DHCP Client sevice on Local Computer.Error 5: Access is denied."I tried to run system restore, but I was given the error:"The disk Local Disk (C:) has errors.Windows has detected file system corruption on Local Disk (C:). You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored."I scheduled a chkdsk scan for next reboot, and restarted. Afterwards, I was able to get System Restore to run. After rebooting, I received the error:"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system
