wheels to clean.” Roomba will tell you something is wrong with a two-tone “Uh-Oh” sound followed by either a narrated voice that says “Error 5. Spin Roomba’s side wheels to clean” or 5 beeps. Error 5 indicates that one or both of the side wheels cannot turn. Check the side wheels for obstructions. Push the wheels up and down several roomba error 5 message times and shake out any loose debris that may be trapped in the wheel well. Briskly turn both wheels by hand, ensuring they turn freely and that each wheel exhibits the same amount of resistance. I reseated the battery, and cleaned all contacts, but the error persisted. Being a couple of years old, I figured it was time to replace the battery. Purchased a new battery, installed and charged overnight, and Roomba ran in the morning as scheduled. I came home to find him dead in the middle of the room. I placed him on his dock, where he asked to have the time and day set. I did, left him to charge, and within a few minutes the Error 5 came back. I tried resetting but holding down the power button, but am still getting the error. Could it be my dock? Is there something else I should try before spending more money on a dock? If that still does not work, the customer care team may be able to give you a few more options. The customer care team can be reached at by dialing 1877-855-8593 Thanks, Yi Liu iRobot Customer Care Be the first to like this|Sign in to "Like" posted June 10, 2014 by Kristina Price Permalink Yes, all of the contacts were cleaned. I went ahead and ordered a new power supply, as well, but am having the same same issue. I think it may actually be the battery door, as it doesn't seem to sit completely flush any longer, which lets the battery fall down and break contact. If I press on the door, the battery makes contact again. I'm not sure how it would end up warped, maybe from getting stuck on a heater vent
