The sites are bound by host name. I tried to enable WebDAV on a site, but I keep getting System Error 5 if mounting it with net use * http://webdav.example.com. On the other hand, if I remove the host name requirement from the WebDAV site and try to mount the drive access is denied with its IP address as net use * http://10.0.0.1 it works fine. I tried to disable the firewall, just in case. It made no difference. Other than that, I am at loss. Is it possible to have different sites with WebDAV, sharing the same IP? If so, is there anything that I might be missing? Thanks so much! From the same server hosting the site. Windows Server 2008 Standard,with Desktop Experience. I can open the HTTP web site with IE, both by host name and by IP. But with WebDAV it only authenticates and mounts by IP. I repeated the test, disabling Windows Authentication, enabling Basic Authenticationand disabling the host name mapping, and it mounted fine.
